Aww, I am truly sorry to hear that. Yes healing is where I believe God loves on us the most because I do not believe that he ever intended for us to experience some of the things that we have. Either from personal choices, thinking we are making “the right decision, or from the way others have treated us.” Unfortunately people can really damage our hearts and minds and then we have to recover, be restored, and unlearn things that never served us is in order to learn things the right way, which is Gods ways. Hey Sis. I’m praying for you. I was in my car for about 5 mths (173 days). A year after a layoff, failed side hustles, and drained emergency fund…I had no other options but to live in my car. Ugh!!! God really used that time (wilderness) to prune and ready me for my assignment. I’m currently in my resting place and waiting for the next instruction. Stay leaned into the arms of the Lord. Stay in obedience to any instructions. And know that the Father is preparing you for something far greater. ❤❤❤

Yes..!! When I was in my car..is when I ran into so many people..who like myself...no one would guess in any way..shape. Or form.. .that they were homeless. I was so glad to have a car....when some of us..would be leaving the library or laundry mat etc....at closing time..and it would be pouring rain..and many did not have a car...

Working at 68 years old for $18 an hour, putting bread on the shelves for Sara Lee as a vendor. Luckily I'm in Bartlesville Oklahoma LOL and the rent is still doable. And yes, there's such thing as an extroverted introvert because I am one. I love my short friendly interactions with customers and the store managers. Sis I am praying for you! I can see and feel your heart and wish u were near me in MO. I pray daily and sit quietly so I can hear the voice of God. I stopped seeking signs because I know the enemy was trying to confuse me. If I don’t hear God for myself, I won’t move, and yes God will confirm his word directly to you. Since you are an empath, I hope you are able to reset and recharge because you do feel so much. Be strong, be confident and stay encouraged. When my son was young, I ended up homeless and went to a shelter for woman and children. 17, scared, and young, they helped me get on my feet! The system works if you work it. I humbled myself as the Lord calls us to do. That move held us up for 18 years. God is Good!

Potential experience that helped me: From 2013 to 2022 (Nov.), I lived in an extended stay. It was Studio 6 under the Motel 6 line of motels. My rent in Dallas started at $750 for everything, including utilities, cable, kitchenette (no stove), furnished, cleaned twice a week, close to the college I taught at, etc. By the time I left my rent was I think $1,000 or closer to $1,100 something to that effect. Now that's Dallas. I lived in San Diego from 1996 to 2006, where my rented started at $445 and ended at $650. If I returned to SD, I couldn't even rent a tree. But I write this to suggest that you may need to consider living in an extended stay motel sometimes when there is a struggle with housing. Pay at $17 an hour for California is low, but I didn't make more than $1,500 per month working as an adjunct, and my rent was what I wrote above, and I still made it work. I'm now in my apartment since Nov. 2022 where it is significantly higher, but I was conditioned very well in the extended stay to pay on the first. You don't have it. You have to leave at 11 am. I've never been late on my rent. Just consider it. Living with family will always be unstable because they are simply silly. Living with strangers can be dangerous because you don't know what they are up to, and you can get caught up in their mess. Find an extended stay that you can work with. See if there is a monthly rate. Extended Stay America is going to be too costly. Try Studio 6 or Budget Inn or Super 8 or any one of the brands that you can stomach until you can get to the place you want. Hope all goes well. I know from experience what you are going through. I am glad you were able to return to the States safe and sound. As women, especially black women, we can be very vulnerable in a foreign country. My heart breaks to know your story is one of many. Why are so many intelligent and skilled bw working without secure living arrangements? These apartments should go by your income when you work. The government will reward a woman not working with children by setting them up in an apartment. Yet, a single working woman gets zero assistance 🙄. Homelessness in our country is shameful.

Isn’t that amazing to have similar stories. I think that’s part of the reason that God told me to “Just Share You.” His people are being mistreated and hurting and need to see hope from people that are real an honest and genuine. You are a great storyteller - very articulate and well-spoken! My thought, as you told your story, is that life is not about hunting for signs or clues. Yes, I want to follow God’s will - but my personal view is that God is not going to require me to do anything that doesn’t make sense. As someone else commented, “God is not a God of confusion.” Life is not a mystery novel - where we have to be constantly discerning God’s will. Rather (and this is just my personal view), we have to lead our lives - and because we are in constant prayer and communication with God, we have to trust that our steps are ordered (emphasis on “ORDERed”). Hope this makes sense and is helpful. 🙏🏽💕
