The benefit of NOT putting it on your roof is we can sometimes put our rig in the shade & our panels in the sun…if your cords are long enough. I don’t know a lot about that but maybe something to consider.

That breeze looks wonderful!! Paired with the yummy food - heaven. Im in 118 heat. I take care of 5 "feral" cats. I purchased those blue Igloo refreezable packs ($1 each) and place them (frozen solid) inside their cat houses and cools them to a nice 80 degrees. Switch them out a few times a day. Big help! Also, hydrate my indoor dogs with their own lil cucumber and watermelon cubes salad. Maybe Ruby will like that? 🍓❤🐾

I would be concerned about Ruby getting overheated many dogs die from overheating. they don’t sweat like humans my sister-in-law’s dog was in the park. Just going for a walk one day and it was 85 and the dog just dropped dead and it was only three years old. I would get a cooling mat for Ruby and maybe get a place where you can get her cool down it can affect her believe me I pray you can find relief somewhere.

My Google pants says, Gelato uses less cream and more milk than ice cream and typically contains no egg yolks or eggs at all. Gelato is served slightly warmer than American ice cream and is also churned at a slower rate, introducing less air into the product.

Rowan I had an idea for the pans noise, Have you tried removing them and hanging Pot holders on the same hooks first? I think it would definitely soften the blow and quiet it down when they bounce.

First hang an oven mitt, then drop the measuring spoons or cups inside the mitt, then put the loop for it on top of the mitt loop on the hook. That way the measurers are totally muffled inside the mitt.

I have been living out of my Ford Escape and I found this system thru eco flo it is a heater and air conditioner together and it comes with a system to charge and another thing that you could hook to your van and it charges as you drive. The system is around 1300 dollars but I believe it’s worth it you and ruby stay cool😊

Hi Rowan! It looks like the PetSmart in Lakewood has "a few left" of the medium sized Green Pet cooling mat, and the Gig Harbor PetSmart has "a few left" of the large sized. We have one for our Labrador, cuz our campervan does not have built in air conditioning.

Get a spray bottle that mists…. It’s great with a fan too…. You can mist Ruby too 🌹

Rowan I have portable usb air conditioners in my apt and they really work! They are little! You put 1 quart of ice water in them and the fan blows the cold air. Love them. Love you both too!!!

Hi Rowan and Ruby I am in Tri-Cities, WA and right now we are at 104….due to meds I can’t be in the sun and/or get too hot. Something I do to help keep cool is to get a microfiber towel wet with cool water and wrap it around my neck, I use a small hair claw to clip it so it stays in place. It is night and day difference with my body temp. If you shred your carrots they will cook quicker. Can you show us the tattoo’s on your hand/wrist please? Please be careful with Ruby and the heat. Dogs overheat quicker than we do. Even a damp something on the floor can help cool her down and keep her cool. I love all of the natural beauty in the PNW! I can’t wait for the time when I can travel and take in everywhere I want to check out! Take care and be safe!

Hi Rowan, I’m having hard time keeping maggy cool and it is hard to do deliveries because the car heats up so fast and parking lots do not have shade. Maggy is 12 years old and can’t handle the heat. I lost my KZbin channel me and maggy because KZbin did an update and somehow locked me out so I dusted another one. I have so much respect for all you get done as I now know living on the road is allot of work.

The great news is Gelato has a lower fat % compared to ice cream and ice cream has egg yolks and cream whereas gelato is made with whole milk. Lovely to see you and The Rubes enjoying summer days and cooler evenings ❤

I hate the heat which is why I moved to the Pacific NW. The nice part about living here is that even when we get those rare heat waves there are so many wonderful places to get cooler. I would have parked in the shade and had a really long cord to get my solar panel charging (not a fan of the sun at all. lol) Hope you and Ruby find lots of places and ways to stay cool until this passes. Park in the shade, put your panel in the sun and move your power station as close to shade as possible or cover top of station to keep heat off it. The whole point is you can stay in shade while your panel is in sun. I am in Portland and it is hot and I would not want my dog sitting in van in the sun. You can also throw a tarp over your van then put the panel on top. The tarp will keep your van much cooler

If you haven't figured out that Ruby is healthy and loved and cared for and is in no danger of heat exhaustion or anything else, then you are mistaken. Hi , a good cooling tip is to put an ice block or frozen Ice bottle or in your case a bag of ice in a bowl add some water and salt to get it really cold in front of a fan at night it works. Put a towel under for the condensation.

A tarp or blanket or sheet drapped over the back doors(put straight out) will create shade inside rear of van and a diy awning over side doors the same, windshield cover on the outside of window. Yeah, I live across the Tacoma Narrows Bridge. We are definitely not used to these temps on the Olympic Peninsula! I actually live on the Kitsap peninsula that’s off of the Olympic Peninsula! lol Luckily we do get a nice breeze here in Sliverdale off of the Puget Sound! My sister lives in Tacoma. It’s so much busier over there. 😃

You can always try to find a creek too that's running through there and sat in it you and the dog and get wet. Find you a cheer to sit on or a rock to set in that way. He'd be nice and cool while your power station's getting powered up

If Ruby pants excessively, you can pour cold water on her. Also have a towel that is cold ,and you can put it on her on and off. They calm down with the cool. In Philadelphia we call them Jimmies! Buen provecho!

The tropical storm is forcing hot and humid thick air up to my state of S.C. that is already hot and humid. It was 94 today but feels like 101. It will still be 86 at 3AM.
