I’m not sure what happened with drivers in the last 10-15 years? In that time I’ve never seen so many drivers that use poorer judgment than in any time in my life. It’s like they just don’t care. I live in Alabama, but it’s not just here. You have to drive very defensively everywhere you go. We have red light runners galore here. People drive giant trucks like they’re in Fast and Furious. They just don’t think and realize they are operating a deadly weapon that weighs thousands of pounds. Just slow the F down. So what if you get to where you’re going 2 min later? Fn leave sooner.

I know!! I think it's all these safety features newer cars have... when I was driving my 1982 G30 it was terrifying and I had to drive super defensive because the brakes just couldn't keep up with these newer cars. I'm so glad this van has brake assist, but having nice features doesn't mean people can just go crazy! I always think to myself- rather make it to the destination slower and safe than not make it at all🥲🙏🏼

Amen.amen.amen. love this video keep on keepin on. Moving forward have faith and pray a.lot. before frwys were built. The roads was great highways to travel. High speeds is a huge problem. Its like all freeways in texas anyway might be 70 m.p.h. sad. What happened to 50 m.p.h. 40 on regular highways. Where ever i go anymore. I feel like taking a charter bus. The city buses here run every hour. 7am thru 8pm. Gotta stand in the weather and wait for a city bus. Carrying the unbrella. Taxi cabs way to expensive. One way trips only. Ca spend 50.00 in a hurry. We have a bus train service. Get a ride somehow to a train station. Wait 30 min. Then when you get off the train. Walk 30 to 45 min. To where you be at. Or take a taxi. Spend 10.00 in 5 min. Cant win for loosing. Better know what bus and train to get on. No telling where we would be. I only road the school bus. 50 yrs. Ago. Im 75 yrs. Old. Health issues. Everyone. Here needs a car bad. Or a motor cycle. A 3 wheeler cycle. No bicycles. They can easliy get killed. Vert seldom see a bike around here. The state needs to reduce the speeds to 40 mph. Everywhere so people can enjoy driving again. And pass laws on it. We all already paid for those signs in taxes in texas. Dallas metroplex texas. I prefer small towns myself. Less speeding. Better roads. People do drive like they act. Catch a bad day. Better take another area to stay safe. In a hurry. Get out of the way quick if you can. They make there own speeds. They cant get out of bed on time. They are over worked. Under paid. Thenk you. Love you all. Oh. For me to travel long distance.. Vacation. I take the bus any day. But cant afford to travel like most people can .vans cars etc. Never had the money.

I went to honeymoon beach and never again. I was attacked by a nest of sand flees what a nightmare that was for 2 plus weeks. It is a pretty place though but won’t be going back.😮😢

Im enjoying your videos especially since I’ve been travelling Florida in my converted minivan for the past 6 weeks. Left Canada on Feb 5 and once I saw the palm trees and and felt the warmth of the sun and sand under my feet, it was all good. I have also spent many a night at Cracker Barrel and rest stops and sometimes state parks. You have done a great build on your van and I’m envious. Spent most of my time in Sebastian, Vero Beach, Clearwater, Largo, Tampa, St Pete’s, Homosassa and Gainesville. I dream about standing up in a van and being able to cook inside and since the weather in Florida has been so hot, I could have used a max air fan as well….lol. I have visited friends and also stopped to pet sit in peoples homes when I’m able. I post my adventures on FB and am always open to hearing new travel tips. FYI. The Manatee viewing centre in Tampa is free and they also have sting rays and nature trails. Would have been so nice to connect with you and share stories but I’m now in NC slowly heading hime.

Wow, I love hearing your story. We were in very similar areas, I’m surprised we didn’t cross paths! I’m currently in Virginia at my dad’s house now. My boyfriend and his friend flew down for a few days, and his friend had the flu which sadly passed on to me so I drove to my dad’s to be able to shower every day (don’t know why but when I’m sick I find showers to be a great remedy!) anyways, maybe our paths will cross in the future! 16 years my wife and I have been going to the FL Keys for a long winter stay. The driving down there is off the charts NUTS! It was so bad this year, we managed to avoid a couple bad accidents brought on by drivers who shouldn't even have a license. But this is the last year, from now on, we'll try NM or AZ. If you have never lived in Florida, then I should tell you why they avoid it, if the extreme heat and humidity don't give you reason enough, the mosquitoes will. But if you enjoy being hot and have constant wet clothing from sweat, go for it. I live here and I can tell you from experience, we are starting van life to get the heck out of here.

Great time to visit Florida! I'm gonna remember that island and hopefully check it out one day. I totally get your frustration with that driver. I drive a flatbed truck for a living, hauling steel with a lot of weight. People on the road can be so brain dead! Pulling in front of you to immediately make a turn is absolutely moronic. If I was a cop and saw that, I would ticket that person for sure. Glad the functionality of the van is working out for you! Be careful out there and always stay alert!

that sweet tea looks so good, I love sweet tea! Be prepared when you come out west…sweet tea like doesn’t exist except at the grocery stores and McDonald’s ☠️ restaurants always give you the “we have sugar you can add to unsweetened tea” that is not the same! We live in our motorcoach 1974 dodge Sportsman RV. It weighs 8300lbs!!! We get this ALOT!!! What is wrong with ppl. Yes,biscuits are divine! So we are currently living in our RV in Tennessee working our way around. Are there any laws against parking and sleeping there? And I would love to kit and share notes. New sub'r btw.

What I do is find a Cracker Barrel for the night and enjoy the beach by day! Most (but not all!) parks here have some type of small ($2-$8) entry fee. All of the Cracker Barrel’s I’ve been to so far have been packed with other RVs and vans because there’s simply no where to camp here! Definitely check out the west side of Florida- the Gulf of Mexico is STUNNING and there’s so many beautiful springs here as well🙏🏼 I went kayaking a few weeks ago on the weeki wachee and it was just jaw dropping🥹✨

Yes!! I highly suggest getting a dome bed type of thing for him, when we started traveling Maui was the same way and having a “safe space” was super beneficial for him!! Now he loves driving🥹🙏🏼 it’s definitely good to start while they’re younger!
