You have a great channel. I’ve learned a lot. I’ve been watching for a while, but I just subscribed. I’ve visited Thailand many times and now I’ve retired and I’m moving there, I hope to see you there. Thanks for the education.🙏🏽

Welsh Boy Webby, who lives ln Jomtien, is currently in Philippines with 5 mates and 2 of them have been robbed of a lot of money in first few days! He says the beggars and hawkers are relentless.

Great video Les , don’t want to be the grim reaper but Labour are looking to increase state pension from 67-71 they literally don’t want you to get it
@RetiredandLivingthedreamАй бұрын
No problem with that for me, Oct 2026 I get mine it's too close for me to change the goal posts. But you never know.

@@RetiredandLivingthedream What I find concerning is the last Tory government was reducing NI saying they wanted to abolish it and called it a tax and said the money goes into the same pot. Labour and none of the other Parties challenged them in this. It is NI contributions not tax and they go into the NI Fund which because they are not taxes are not available to government for general expenditure. The NI Find pays a supplement to the NHS and for certain contribution based benefits including the state pension all of which are free of means testing. The surplus is borrowed by the government Debt Management Dept at preferential interest rates. If we ever lose the link to NI contributions then we lose the free of means testing and as means tested benefits everybody living overseas could lose the state pension. See the following where the above is explained National Insurance WIKIPEDIA & National Insurance Fund WIKIPEDIA.

@@IsaanMana lot will go back to there country,it would be cheaper to give the pension than have to give them benefits and pay there rent,but with the uk government they are thick as shit
@michaelnewton9341Ай бұрын
The worst thing would be if they means test the state pension!

Hi Les, what is the best way to lower the costs of prescription medications in Thailand ?( I am aware that many medications there do not require prescriptions.) For a retired expat in Thailand is it best to have health insurance with a drug plan or how do you keep the costs down?
@RetiredandLivingthedreamАй бұрын
Thanks for the question, sorry I am unable to answer this question as I am not on any medication so can't comment. I think most meds are cheaper than the equivalent western price. You would need to see a Pharmacy for a comparative price. Health insurance with meds I think would be expensive. Sorry I can't give you the answer your looking for. Best wishes Les.
