Wonderful video - and very nicely done drone videography. You also made us laugh at 12:10 with the colorful language! But looking out at the view, we fully understand why one would use such a passionate expression :)

Capelhenos is quite spectacular, you can hike out on the "new land" but watch out for the crazy seagulls!!

They scared me for my drone all the time in Faial! I didn't know it was possible! Do you need a guide? I feel nowadays it is always mandatory to hire one to get to sensitive natural areas!

When we went it was 6 years ago and there was no restriction to explore the area. Things may well have changed now.

Thank you for your amazing insights into the Azores. Quick question is it always grey?
@Seedsofdiscovery2 жыл бұрын
Hi Ruben! Thank you! Not at all! It tends to be more grey in winter but here it was just shot over one day that wasn't great weather wise! I just came back from the Azores and I had a full week of sun!

@@rubenoliveira6211 Hi Ruben, I would say it really depends on what you are looking for. The other islands are way calmer, smaller population but can be missing some products.

@@rubenoliveira6211 I would recommend you check the different islands. Maybe the smaller ones would be more affordable and calmer. Check the islands of the triangle for example: faial, sao jorge, pico

what a great video. thanks for sharing. what drone are you using? and are there any drone laws there? going in aug and cant wait to visit the island I was born on
@Seedsofdiscovery2 жыл бұрын
Thank you very much! I am using a DJI Mini 2 for my videos in general, and on some occasions stock footages. Portugal drone laws are mostly the same as the rest of Europe. I would recommend you do your own research before flying, as I am by no way a legal expert. However, couple of things to keep in mind: You need to register your drone before flying and get authorization to fly from the AAN (check their e-aan website). If you fly over water or near the coastline you will need to ask the capitaincy for authorization too. Portugal can be a be heavy in terms of the admin before you fly. You can get a decent map of where you are allowed to fly on the gvnt's app voanaboa. Also there are a lot of protected areas and parks that you may need authorization for. www.drone-made.com/post/portugal-drone-laws

@@Seedsofdiscovery thanks for the information, I’m a licensed drone pilot, I have been looking around at the rules and regulations,

@@MiguelVM360 Amazing! You are going to really enjoy it then! There are amazing spots on each island. I am actually thinking of doing a video with the best drone places I have seen in the Azores. For Faial, I would definitely recommend: Capelinhos, the Caldeira, any of the small volcano cones that are used as grazing grounds for cattle, Horta and the ruins of the lighthouse which was destroyed by the 1998 earthquake! If you manage to get the authorizations you will have a blast for sure!

Hi, do you know whether it is possible to rent an electric bicycle with a children seat (for 4yo son)? Planning to go island hopping in June, and I am from the Netherlands, so, I prefer bicycling too :). Nice and informative video.

Thanks! Great idea! Not sure tbh. You can reach out directly to the people at ECOMOOV in Horta. They should be able to help! :)
