It's a good place for sending your kid off to the city to find their bearings in life.. Instead of a car on their 18th birthday, you gift them this apartment and tell em to start flapping those wings..

who the hell would want to live in Times Square

This house is located in Times Square and I really enjoy the lively atmosphere around it. The only downside is that the view from one side of the balcony is blocked by a billboard.

Don't forget $2800 a month for life after dropping $1M! NYC is too expensive for 99% of people.

@rockzzzz4098 Its for services such as security, maintenance, personal gym etc. Not all places charge these additional monthly fees.
@uhsi5303 ай бұрын
@rockzzzz4098you have to pay for electricity, the water bill and gas.. then insurance and other stuff and don’t forget Uncle Sam wants his cut of the pie as well 😂
@rudalsxv3 ай бұрын
Those are maintenance/insurance/tax/upkeep costs. Lifts need regular maintenance as well as electricity to operate. Lights, yearly window cleaning, reserve funds for longer term maintenances like replacing the lifts every 20 years, facade repairs and cleaning etc etc etc. Have a pool? Maintenances. Internal garden for residents to enjoy? Regular landscaping. Insurance for the building. Only people whose never owned their own property (anywhere, not just NYC) says things like this.
@tomscott44382 ай бұрын
Taxes will run about $1700 a month, and common fees about the same. With a standard down payment, your monthly (with insurance) would be about $9K.

Wow, got to love clean, modern spacious apartments in the city. however, Time Square would almost be the last place to live in manhattan. tourists gone berserk. my happy place is within the triangle of 72nd street Broadway, Museum of History, and Zabars.

I am very glad that I’d be able to give my fish a bath in this apartment’s kitchen sink. You could give your mermaid a bath in the bathroom sink. This apartment is sink-strong.

VERY nice place and, for some, worth the money. However, I had to smile when Ashton described it as being in the "center of the world." I know Ashton didn't really mean it this way and was only speaking figuratively, but that phrase sort of illustrates many New Yorkers' detachment from the reality experienced by the rest of the country and the world. At the end of the day, it is just another place inhabited by a tiny percentage of the population of the country.

this is actually a very good deal, I'm tempted (but I assume for foreign investors I can't put just 10% down?)

With the building you can as it allows 90% financing, it’ll just come down to what bank you use to get the loan. Overall, great investment property though!

Why do I need a sink that large for in the bathroom? To wash a baby or dog? I'd rather have more counter space.

Love wondering who on earth would pay such a ridiculous price for a tiny crowded little box in the middle of a big polluted noisy city. I'm thankful every day that I don't have to live in NYC. If it was 3 times the size with a yard and 2 car garage it would look like my son's house that he paid a quarter of that for.
