Dear Matt and Tyler, you really nailed it in Northampton. Northampton has low crime, world famous female college Smith college is there too. Just like you, I am from a water and city area. Northampton provides solace for someone who wants a Lot to do in a smaller space. Cooley Dickinson Hospital is right there, Look Park hosts some concerts and there is the Academy of music, and the Calvin Theatre as well. Small other venues exist where you can see live music that is actually from well known bands like Pat Metheny and nectar in the past three years. They have so many great restaurants in a very small area that are ethnic ranging from Moroccan to Japanese, Italian, steakhouses and of course American fare. Once you are off of Route nine, you enter a world of beautiful homes that were restored and well-kept. It’s almost completely not run down considering the age of the houses there. So a lot of people take pride in living there. You also have small hamlets like Leeds and Florence. They are very cute and have a bustling main area as well. Some of My favorite eateries in Northampton are: Local Burger, Florence diner, Bluebonnet diner, Mulino’s, Sylvesters, and the Historic Hotel Northampton. There are lots of bars because of the colleges in the area including UMass in Amherst. Among them is the Tunnel Bar, The Dirty Truth and The Toasted Owl, And it even has two breweries! Progression, and Northampton. All I did was fill in some blanks for you guys. You did the traveling. Don’t forget to stop off in Northampton after you finish hiking up your choice of three glorious (I call them mountains bc I’m from Flat Long Island) State Reservations in the vicinity. Okay. I cannot contribute to Almost Any other town in this Commonwealth. Like you say, You’ve got Answers! Thank you guys!

I live in Easthampton and I go to Downtown Northampton more often to do shopping.

I love it. I own a multifamily there...Downtown is AMAZING. It has some of the best restaurants in MA and you are right near tax free Salem NH. Enjoy...when it comes time to buy, reach out.

@@livinginmassachusetts25 I will be living in the Upper Acre (Ave’s) part of town. I already visited and explored the downtown, I ate at “the hidden pig” seen the castle. I like it myself I just wanted to know what others think of it.

@@juggmane8514 I like it a lot. Definitely check out G's and Stacks for restaurants as well. Haverhill is considered one of the fastest developing cities in the Merrimack Valley. I have owned property there for 2 years now and have loved every minute of that city.

NNOOOO, high rents, dealing with the dam college kids who think they are above the law, got 5 colleges to deal with (i worked security for off campus houseing awhile back) try to avoied going to that town esp when school is in session , they defunded there PD, you got I-91 major drug route through the state ect..., but they do have good shopping and restraunts. AH Springfield spent time working overnights on patrol right below Springfield Armory yeah fond memories that make for great stories when you want to scare the crap out of people and get that WTF look, lol Holyoke the only Saint Patrick's Day parade i marched in were they told you to bring some live ammo and fix bayonet's and to keep yr distance from the crowed so they won't try to grab yr firearm.
