This guy beat cancer! Unfortunately Chuck was not so lucky. Sixteen years have passed without going on stage and playing these songs. despite his mistakes. Murphy is a legend!!! His unique playing style remains. He was definitely best death metal guitarist of the 90s.

Besides Trey from Morbid Angel, James Murphy ( and of course Chuck Schuldiner) was probably one of the first guitar Gods in death metal music. He definitely influenced people to stir more towards "structured" lead guitar techniques. Instead of the overly used, not so great, Kerry King, play a bunch of notes as fast as you can style. Oh, and a bunch of whammy bar squeals and dive bombs...
@blood_v12_892 жыл бұрын
Yeah Kerry king to personaly say... his solos are bad....Trey has was better use of the whammy bar than he does...and way more creativity
@ericwilliams5382 жыл бұрын
@@blood_v12_89 Kerry King was the worst guitarist that I could think of to use as an example. Yes, he may have been involved with creating some of the better Slayer songs. Though I would say most of that credit would go to Jeff Hennaman. James Murphy was definitely and still probably one of the best metal guitarist.
@MoveitorLoseit22 жыл бұрын
Trey had some great solos when he put thought into them, but Trey has also had some not so good "Slayer" style solos of just random notes played fast & whammy bar squeals. I like Trey, I'm just stating facts.
@jamescon55 Жыл бұрын
@@MoveitorLoseit2 👍 Totally agreed 💯 That gawd awful HERETIC album is a perfect example of that. SMH 😒 And to put ALL THAT Bondo on your own "finished CD"? 😟 Yep, THAT'S when I KNEW Trey HAD officially lost his mind, and for me, myself and I? The once brilliant fire 🔥 that Morbid HAD? Was OUT...As was I 😒. STILL love their old stuff though 😏. 🤘🔥🤘
@MoveitorLoseit2 Жыл бұрын
@@jamescon55 Heretic had some good songs and good ideas, but the production was crap. He also added all those unnecessary solo outtakes as extra tracks & a second CD of him just messing around on guitar or unfinished versions of songs from the main album.
