I’m a carpenter by trade, and drywall is one of my least favorite things to do. Luckily we will subcontract it out half the time or more. But on the current job hung all of it and it’s a 5000 sq house. If we had to mud it I would be miserable. I’m experienced mudding and people are always asking me to do a bathroom or a basement. It’s basically the only side job people want me to do and I don’t want to do it but I don’t know how to say “no” and money is money

They seem to be experts at getting tied to the most toxic characters also lost in life. It’s less about California, and more the fact that it’s a top destination for broken/toxic people. In Palm Springs I met a concerning number of Midwesterners who were running from the law or a crazed ex, usually a crippling drug/alcohol habit was somewhere in the picture. The number of these people who had kids or wanted kids was terrifying.

My dad and I made a jig or brace. We measured floor to ceiling. Subtracted the depth of a 2x4. Took a piece the 8’ piece and nailed a 3’ piece in a T. Helped a bunch. I’m sure there are easier ways so clue me in.
