I have to say I enjoyed this Karachi on £1 more than ANY travel related programme I have seen on TV for years. Your enthusiasm and obvious love of your heritage was heart warming and funny, as well as being peppered with real interest and warmth. Just wonderful! Interesting. The decorative tile beneath that “old man shaver” as you put it at 7:48, is a Dutch tile from the 50’s - 70’s that tells how children look at their fathers through the years (from age 5 through 50). With age 5 saying something along the lines of “My daddy can do anything!”, age 15 stating: “My dad doesn’t know a darn thing about that.”, and ending with age 50 reminiscing: “You could ask father about anything.” Quite sweet, really. How it ended up in Pakistan is beyond me.
