Being that I am a Florida native and still live here, I grew up along the gulf beaches, Tampa Bay as in the actual bay, and the numerous lakes and rivers all over the state this series takes me back to that lifestyle of exploring new places and diving on them. We were never spearfishing though as my dad was a remarkable fisherman with rod and reel amd in the summer we went snorkeling for scallops, called 'scalloping' and then at night we floated a couple of powerful pool lights connected to a car battery and resting on a Styrofoam swim rings so we could go 'gigging' for mullet, flounder, speckled trout, redfish and snook. Snook was illegal to gig or spearfish for usually, however we were considered living in elevated poverty so no fish species was off limits to us for food.

Indonesia has always been my favorite area. I actually saw where the huge wooden boats are built, the ones mostly for fishing. And many other things.

Another beautiful example of untouched underwater life . The landscape of the islands looks to be a bit too unfriendly with the jagged rocks and ankle height plants that you don't know " what " they could be hiding .
