What is bloody wrong with humanity! I know there’s been poverty in every generation but we have options these days. The fact people still have to go through the horror of sleeping on streets etc is disgraceful! They spend thousands putting up bollards so the homeless can’t sleep somewhere sheltered and dry but don’t do anything to help. I know not everyone’s the same, some will abuse the system or actually prefer the streets because being in a flat on their own doesn’t help them but they could help others that want it. These people have often had awful childhood trauma or other issues and need support from a young age, not just put in care and then chucked out at 18 and be expected to Survive. They don’t have the lifeskills, there are mental health issues or they are just very vulnerable and the problems won’t just go away. Start investigating in them while they are young and give them huge opportunities to succeed BEFORE they end up on the streets and/or with substance abuse issues! I hope this couple have found their own place and are doing well x

Portugal made all those changes with H users, they've decriminalised it, made safe infection places, etc etc. They changed their attitudes towards addiction. Saw addiction for what it is, which is a mental health illness. And you know what,,, Now in 2023 Portugals Massive Heroin problem has practically disappeared. Their drug related crime has gone down by 90%. The death rates from ODs are no more. I know it sounds too good to be true but it's true! Portugal had a huge heroin problem back in the early 2000s. It devastated lives, therefore devastating the country. The Portuguese government made these few changes, spent a bit of tax payers money and now their laughing because the Portugal Heroin pandemic has gone, and the country is thriving, not with just happy healthy residents but they are thriving financially as well now coz no more having to spend government funds on cleaning up the streets after ppls used. Britian should really take a deep hard look at how they deal with drug issues in the country. Sometimes you gotta spend money to make money. So come on Wales/Britan sort it out, make the change, and help ppls choose LIFE!
