“Living rent-free in his head”: Poilievre, Fraser have rowdy exchange on housing proposal

A day after Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre unveiled his housing plan, which includes a proposal to scrap the goods and services tax on some new homes, a rowdy exchange between Poilievre and Housing Minister Sean Fraser took centre stage during question period on Tuesday.
“The very angry housing minister's been up all night trying to dream up some snarky comment,” Poilievre said. “Will he accept this common sense plan to axe the tax?”
Fraser responded by saying that “With all the time and energy he spends on me, I'm going to have to send him a cheque for the time I've been living rent-free in his head.”
Poilievre took aim at Fraser by saying it’s “the only rent he hasn’t doubled,” and said that construction has gone down in major municipalities across Canada that have received the Housing Accelerator Fund.

One home his LLC owns is in Ottawa. He rents it out to CPC MP Michael Cooper. Who, through Financial Disclosure documents pays $2,170 for a room to sleep in. This rent is up double digits in the last couple of years. To recap: Pierre owns a home that he rents to Cooper. Who expenses the Rent to the Tax Payers. Pierre jacked up the Rent. Cooper jacked up his expenses. We pay. And you claim to be concerned about Canadians affording Rent, while defending the Corporate Landlord who is stiffing us? Weird.
