Hi Carla I'm new to your channel. Thankyou for sharing these videos. They are very helpful. Yes. I clean once a month my base board and walls. Every week door knobs with disinfect chemical. I try to organize myself by doing one room at a time. Because I don't want to overwhelm myself. Around the house I wear my house slippers. My foot doctor tells me I should never be without any shoes or slippers on my feet. I'm sure that goes for everyone if not they will have promblems with their feet. I have plantar fasciitis and it hurts. When I where special shoes or my house slippers I feel better. My foot doctor says if you don't wear shoes or slippers while you are in the house, you will be beating up your feet. I have to get a shot in my foot every time I feel pain. That needle hurts, no fun at all. 😢 I like your couch on the side where you window is,and it look 👀more spacious. It makes your living room more bigger. I'm trying to decluttering all my things also and go minmalist. I know it will feel less stressful. I watch 👀Joshua Becker, He's an expert on that!! 🤗

Carla, Take the $20 bill to the bank. Looks like your adorable doggo got a hold of it. Anywho, if you have the serial number on the bill, I think the bank MIGHT swap it for an intact $20 bill. It's definitely worth checking into. I personally would want those pillows there that you kept. Beautiful art on the wall. And I keep inside shoes by my front door that I change into at my front door.

No shoes in the house! Think of where shoes have been: public bathroom? sidewalks spit on, peed on, or worse? Once you get in the habit of no shoes it's easier to keep clean (dust, vacuum, wash floors will only take a few minutes each week). You're right-vaccuum is a must! A brush attachment can make quick work of the baseboards and louvered doors). Once the first deep clean is done including walls, windows and baseboards)- it's SO much easier to maintain. You should feel proud of your hard work- looks great!

Closed storage is a game changer. It avoids visual clutter. I avoid open shelves because they tend to look messy, unless they’re empty, which means they lose their storage potential. For art, I prefer one big piece instead of a collage wall, it looks more “clean”

I know it’s late to reply! What was a game changer for me was to remove the cabinets in the kitchen and have floating shelves in. With the right depth fitting the food containers, there is always just one container, all lined up in a row. It prevented me from stuffing things in front of other things. Children started to cook more often as everything was easy to see and get out. I also got rid of a cupboard in our living room where the TV sat on top, as my husband is a hoarder and everything was always crammed full of things. With just a fireplace mantle and a coffee table, he is forced to keep his stuff in one place - which is always a mess, but it’s his place not mine!

Hi Carla, nobody wears shoes at home in Italy, and when I go visiting family or Friends I take them off. Think of how dirty they are😱 Really love how your home Is getting better and better. As a crazy cleaner, I recommend never using a broom. Get a good vac with attachments and use it to clean edges and baseboards. Try one of those vileda spin mop and bucket sets, with a good smelling all purpose cleaner. Also, never wear outside shoes in your home. Could you get new covers for your pillows? What about flipping the sofa and tv spots? Then you wouldn’t be facing the heater. Get a matching little white table from ikea and use them together as a coffee table and recycle the round one. All thoughts to consider. Love you and your content.

Don’t fill up the corner. Live with it for a while, and you’ll probably start to enjoy the space. I think banks will replace the torn $20 bill. Can the chartreuse table be painted? Amazon sells pillow covers much less than buying the whole pillow. The inserts are usually standard sizes.

I don't like to think of the gross stuff we pick up on the bottom of our shoes in stores, parking lots, gas stations, etc, & I don't enjoy scrubbing floors. No outside shoes in the house means no gross stuff & less floor scrubbing :)

No shoes in the house. Get rid of that rug and that hideous TV unit and you're off to a good start, personally I would get some beautiful pillow covers from Anthropologie or somewhere quality and make them just the cover so that the pillow inserts can be switched out or washed. Good art, REAL art on the walls; nothing generic or with words like "Live, laugh love"😂 I would put the dryer on wheels and put it under a strategically placed table with things that you like on top

I really love how the blue couch matches with the yellow TV table! When it comes to shoes or no shoes in the house, in my country, it is generally not accepted to be with shoes in the house, and I have always been wondering what it is to clean an apartment when you are in it whit shoes. So definitely “no shoes” policy will make your life way easier 😃 the biggest + is that when you have no time to mop the floor, you can just vacuum it, and you can walk bare feet in the house without any problems! So girrl, no shoes, big + 😆 lots of love from Bulgaria 🇧🇬💚

Your minimal setup looks nice, but almost not lived in, like a hotel. Agree about needing art. What about putting art on the heater? 😃 Then it becomes a backing that accentuates the art, rather than an eyesore. I like it when there is something personal in the room, that tells about the person. Not necessarily a lot of knick knacks, just a few things that are important to you

i would consider moving the couch to the wall with the window and then placing the tv in the empty corner! it might not work, but it could be a game changer for how the space is used and looks

I became minimal-ish a couple years ago. It feels amazing. I’m sure more extreme minimalist would say I’m not but it’s different for everyone. I have things I need and things I love. It’s about being happy in your home. I don’t wear shoes inside, they are taken off and I wear slippers inside. Makes a huge difference. I love following your journey :)

I've lived a simplied life for about 14 years now. You'll find yourself over and over again along the journey. What's important today you may feel a need to purge tomorrow. It's much like managing weight loss - you continously have to stay with it. It's definitely a lifestyle change. But you'll find such an appreciation for negative space, and admire your possessions so much more when they each have room to breath. You may find yourself becoming a little too thrilled to purge, so pay attention to that too. I have no TV, no microwave, no social media accts outside YT. My inner and outer worlds are so harmonious. And my savings don't look too shabby either. I'm content. I'm grateful. I just subbed and will be cheering for you on the sidelines .❤

I watched all of your videos! I am living 'minimalistic' dont have a lot of stuff and i know exactly what i have and dont have and it is so much easier to clean. If my house is organized so is my head. I use decorations (nog too much) to make my home cozey and feel like a home. I love the idea i dont have stuff i dont use but at the same time its not completely empty and still feels like a cozey warm home. 🏡❤️

Excellent narration! I love your dog! Defiantly place his “day bed” in his favorite spot and work out from there. Entrance way maybe a couple hooks for dog leash, mask, keys. For the corner, I would a small mirror on the wall which would reflect light and bring the outdoors in. Below I would place a very small high table and perhaps a small tray and a vase with seasonal artificial flowers to set the tone. I would get a neutral tone rug and rectangular low table for the living room. Art would include a pic of your dog perhaps in black and white with a matter frame. Grow your art from their with the pictures you love! Thank you for all of your inspiration! P.S. if you get the small command clear hooks you can place them on the back of furniture legs on the side near your outlet. Place one hook facing up (normal way) on the top of leg and another hook up and the other on the bottom of the table leg facing down and wrap cords like a vacuum cord to tame messy cords. Safety tip: Don’t run cord plug ends under rugs which could cause a fire. Thank you so much for all of the inspiration!

The "after" looks so neat & clean! I think you should get a nice corner unit for your TV/books/knick knacks/etc to go in the blank corner along with a tall plant/tree. You could disguise/cover the ugly wall heater thing with a large floor mirror or some sort of art pieces, or even incorporate some floating shelves.

Your videos are always so inspirational and calming. Thank you for sharing with us. My recommendation for the corner would be a bench with storage so it is a place to take your shoes off when you get in (also a landing space for things like leash, purse, mail, etc. and things you are taking out). For me it has been helpful to have a landing space so it doesn't spill over onto the coffee table or kitchen, etc. , even though all I have space for is a chair. :) Also -- if the heater doesn't work at all and your heating comes from a different source -- could you paint it a favorite color and treat it more like a piece of modern art?

Hey Carla! I always love your videos - you’re so relatable. I’m wondering if your sectional can be split into two pieces, giving you a little bit more flexibility? This is really kind of a personal preference thing, but I’m wondering if you really need the coffee table? If you had a couple of end tables, maybe you can do without it? Can’t wait for part 2! 🌷❤️

Hi Carla, it looks like those sofa covers might come off. If they do just wash them in Coldwater and let them drip dry. Also in janitorial/cleaning, start from top to bottom: the top of all the door frames the windows the dusting then the furniture and then the floors. This keeps the dirt from falling on clean areas and creating double work. I love your videos.
