Pre outs are assigned by the manufacturer for all speakers. And marantz and denon recommend using Sub 2 port for Top Speaker or Voice of God

Yes, but then surround back and rear heights will not receive separation as they would be less than 3ft away! So used as side heights. And yes, we do have Emotiva power amps

We can! But a wise decision to select between both should be based on the room size, speaker selection and impedence of the speakers

If I add 2 front height speakers to setup auro 3d from my existing 7.1 speaker system, should I do sound calibration again or it won't make much difference?

Calibration is required. And for auro 3d you need 9ch AVR with 4 height channels.

Hey @TanmayMehta it is good to see your videos with lot of information. I would like to get a suggestion from you for my living room which measures 13 feet wide * 10 feet depth interiors all done and I have provided speaker wires for surrounds in the ceiling. I am looking for speakers / set up which will enhance the TV sound quality, what would you suggest? should I opt for dedicated set up or something like Klipsh Fives, I am not ok with sound bars. My budget will be around 1 - 1.5 lac range, also this set up should not distrub the neighbours in my apartment.

Thanks Murugan! While I don’t know the room acoustics for sound performance and disturbance to neighbours but below are few of my favourite recommendations - 1. Klipsch The Sevens as Fives lack low bass 2. KEF LSX II 3. Wired Setup with amp + 2 bookshelf speakers

Shifting screen to the opposite wall would have made the room more symmetrical! We watch movies or TV always doors closed. It is only my observation. Another doubt is that, is it possible to convert sub out to a full range speaker out?

The screen and sofa location was fixed since they already had things in place for same. And AVR brands mention in their product manual for top speaker pre out connection. In this case, it was subwoofer 2 pre out port
