I remember stage diving that show. 13 years old and engulfed in LS. I remember talking to DJ around the skate ramp. I asked him how he does that with his voice and I will never forget the response. It the most terrifying of growls he screamed "IT JUST COMES OOOOOOOOOOOUT!!!!" . Then he handed me a demo tape with four songs on it which later became the Reborn album. Burned into my memory was that time DJ growled for me and that demo tape which was totally different fromethods the end result of Reborn. The biggest thing I remember from that demo tape is that Sellout originally began with heavy guitars fading for the intro riff instead of acoustic guitar. Both ways were bad ass!

One of my major influences as to why I write the music I write. Other than some underground death metal bands. This band inspired me for many years and still this very day. I've never had the opportunity to see them LIVE, but hope to in the future.

These guys totally shock me every which way around. Not a bunch of posers. They do really respect the Word and know it. I do say their hearts were the in the right place. And they are the first and probably the last thrash metal band in my lifetime to say The Rush Limbaugh Show is their radio preference, on their album artwork. I still love that! Hahaha! Informed and Rockin! Now that's rare!

I guess if I have to explain, I was meaning this was when they had an original sound. Now they have joined a the metal trend of today and lost their actual sound that made them great. they now sound like a million bands out there. Mmkk that is were I was coming from ;-)

So the 2nd and 3rd albums were recorded like crap (ironic that #2 sounded like #2?) but you (mostly) hear all this complex stuff going on. Then when they played it live it was even faster and Lance just nailed everything. I've seen bands where it seemed like the drummer was trying to keep up, but this was kind of the opposite. Also the vocals were sometimes better live than on the album, which is pretty rare in metal. This all suggests that (although impressive) LS was a band capable of much more in these days. But it was a niche of a struggling market, so you can't hate on the record label too much for rushing everything.

Which one is Jason Truby? Stage left with shorter hair or right stage with l-o-n-g hair?
@Rawk4Life10 жыл бұрын
Truby's the one with shorter hair. He had long hair up until the "Inhabit" album, which released the same year as this performance. Bruce Fitzhugh, the other guitarist with long hair, cut off his long locks as well about a year after taking over as lead vocalist.

Why did Living Sacrifice go so boring? Seriously Reborn has about 2 good songs and the rest of their music is so bland. Every album they put out sucks. Its just boring. This is the old fast metal that people liked them for. Why did they quit? My band opened up for them once at a show. They were cool guys after the show and let me see their tour van and hang out for a bit but during the show they got annoyed when we requested the song "Liar." They didn't want to play it. But they did anyway.
