A bit melodramatic is an understatement with a that video. Even with those camera angles, you can see he had plenty of space for a majority of trip. Yes the TRX is wide but delivery vehicles are as big and has no issues driving around UK streets.

I understand that England doesn’t have ranchers and some of the other occupations that require a large utility truck. But what do their construction workers (for example) or other tradesmen whose job requires/greatly benefits from having a utility truck? Even more curious after watching this video and reading some of the comments making it seem like an F150 or 1500 is a monster truck to them. Gotta imagine they have at least a few trucks over there

Gas, of course, is short for gasoline, which is a type of petroleum used to fuel vehicles. Petroleum, or petrol, in the US is the term that’s used for the liquid hydrocarbons that are refined into gasoline, diesel, and kerosene. I agree - this guy is exaggerating the size of the Dodge Ram as he tries to maneuver it around, even though dual axle pickups are wider than the one on the video.

All I see in this video is just how amazing it would be if all of U.K got these to combat the "Stop Oil" protests. Think of the rage on their faces; you're idling on the street polluting the place while they block traffic. Imagine their faces seeing hundreds of those idling! Priceless. On that note, you can change it over to diesel and just smoke em!
@rich7447
@rich7447 Жыл бұрын
Ram discontinued the only diesel it had that was light enough to fit in this truck. You have to go to the next size up to get a diesel from anyone other than Chevy/GMC in a half ton pickup now. The 1500s and really most 2500s don't have a high enough gross vehicle weight rating to install an 1100 lb engine plus 350 lb transmission and have much payload left. The best thing for the UK would be a Ram 3500 or F350 single rear wheel diesel.
@rich7447
@rich7447 Жыл бұрын
That is a relatively small truck in the US. It's a crew cab, but has the shortest bed (5.5 foot) available on a Ram 1500. They don't even offer the 5.5 foot bed in a 2500 or above. The Ford crew cab long beds hold close to 50 gallons/190L of fuel.

Granted the tires are bigger but this isn't the biggest of pickup trucks, it's considered a smaller/lighter truck. Originally, the numerical designation referred to the difference between 1500, 2500 & 2500 trucks in terms of towing power in very rough estimates. What Does 150, 1500, or 2500 Mean on a Truck? What does the 150 in F-150 mean? Why is a Chevy or Ram a 1500? Originally it was how manufacturers labeled a truck's payload capacity in pounds. In the 1980s as most truck owners wanted to haul more, the 1500 size became the most popular, thus most trucks were named “1500” or “150.” That’s why the F-150 could carry about 1,500 pounds of payload. Heavy duty trucks that have larger payload capacities have a 2500 or a 3500 in their name to denote that they can carry more. Today, the 2500 or 250 is heavy duty, and can carry more than 3,500 pounds. The 350 or 3500 trucks can carry over 5,000 pounds. Light--duty truck (LD) 1500 = Payload? half-ton Tow? well over 9,000 pounds. Heavy-duty truck (HD) 2500 = Payload? three-quarter ton Tow? more than 18,000 pounds. Heavy-duty truck (HD) 3500 = Payload? one ton Tow? max capacity of 20,000 pounds. As trucks have grown larger & heavier over the years, the key difference between 1500 & 2500 models is towing power. However, the 2500 & up also equipped with specialized towing features that give it more flexibility when dealing w/ heavier loads. Fittingly, the 2500 & 3500 are capable of great towing feats. Payload & towing are different things, but you do need more payload capacity for a heavier trailer. Dually Is a standard truck with an extra set of wheels in the rear. The reason most people would choose a dually over a non-dually truck has nothing to do with style and everything to do with capability. The extra set of wheels allows for more capability. Pros - Increased maximum towing and payload capacities. - More stable for a trailer specifically in a windy situation (therefore, added safety when needed). - Perfect for a 5th wheel trailer or a larger and heavier haul. Cons - Decreased fuel economy. - Can be more difficult to park and drive because of the wider & heavier body to accommodate extra wheels. - More expensive purchase cost of the truck. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Classification CLASS 1 GVWR: 0 to 6,000 pounds Model Example/s: Ford Ranger CLASS 2 (2A & 2B) GVWR: 6,001 to 10,000 pounds Model Example/s: See below. Important Note: Class 2 is subdivided into 2A (6,001-8,500 pounds) and 2B (8,501-10,000 pounds). Examples of a Class 2A truck include the Ford F-150, RAM 1500, and Chevrolet 1500, while the Chevy Silverado 2500, RAM 2500, and Ford F-250 are Class 2B. CLASS 3 GVWR: 10,001 to 14,000 pounds Model Example/s: RAM 3500, Chevy Silverado 3500, Ford F-350, and Ford F-450 CLASS 4 GVWR: 14,001 to 16,000 pounds Model Example/s: RAM 4500, Ford F-450 (chassis cab) CLASS 5 GVWR: 16,001 to 19,500 pounds Model Example/s: RAM 5500 and Ford F-550 CLASS 6 GVWR: 19,501 to 26,000 pounds Model Example/s: Ford F-650 CLASS 7 GVWR: 26,001 to 33,000 pounds Model Example/s: Ford F-750 CLASS 8 GVWR: Over 33,000 pounds Model Example/s: Tractor-trailer

Put an American in there and we can get int the smallest places. Lol. ( I’ve driven a truck since I was 12, here in Arizona on the Navajo Nation. If you have grandparents that need transportation safely. You are allowed to get them to destinations with their vehicles.) There are some of the tightest places in America too but with experience we can get through anything.

Is there no ability to just pay at the pump in the UK?

You can’t in Australia. You have to walk in and pay. Although there might be some pay @ pump stations if you really looked for one

So much for the English politeness, the people in that car were rather rude. In USA somebody would be likely to pull out a baseball bat and crack their headlights or skull for all that horn honking.

Those people getting out of the car... whew. That's fighting time in America. At that point someone is probably getting punched/shot/arrested. Not a good idea at all! Throwing the car doors open and coming at me is a sure incident incoming.

He hammed that up. We drive those on tiny narrow back roads all over the states. They're big, but they're more nimble than this Goof let on. Edit: That truck will also do around 120mph on a highway, not 70. So probably tops out around 195 km/h.

Thats actually not a huge truck. Not sure why he would decided to drive a 1000hp Hennessy? Was he thinking a 1k hp was going to be fuel efficient ? Lets face it, he ham'd it up for the video but most people who own a good sized truck like that know how to drive it much better. It is funny how you cant pay for the gas at the pump tho and lets face it. He could have parked the truck and walked into McDonalds but in keeping with the funny stuff he didnt. Great video and even greater reaction.

To be fair that gas station has a HORRIBLE design. Even w a normal sized car theyd have to wait for him. They have 3 pumps on each side so they need to design the lot to be able to accomodate that. Need more room betweennoumps and they need more room out toward the road.

Here in my American suburban community, it seems to me that most of the larger pickup trucks are in too pristine of a condition to be "working trucks." They're more likely to be used to commute to an office or to drive the kids around town. The most expensive ones cost $80,000 to $100,000 and look more like a luxury sedan or a sports car. The people who are doing hard physical labor for a living are more likely to be driving a small or midsize, beat-up pickup.

It all depends on where you live. I live in a rural area and you see a lot of big trucks like that but the people I know who drive them are mostly small business/work for yourself types who need that type of vehicle to carry whatever equipment they work with everywhere they go. It’s not just rich types.
