Gasoline is a great solvent for cleaning engine parts, however while it might feel anathema, try using Everclear. Thank me later. Being nearly 100% ethanol it very easily degreases engine parts, doesn't leave stains (IT doesn't, but keep in mind the grease it just dissolved will be left behind when the ethanol evaporates), doesn't leave a residual smell on everything it touches, and is water soluble so you can just rinse your hands or garage floor if you so desire. As nearly 100% ethanol, it has the added benefit of evaporating quickly and leaving parts squeaky clean. Keep in mind all the hazards of using gasoline still apply -- flammable, dries out rubber components, etc.; it's just way cleaner and easier to work with!

Fifty years ago, going to work required three buses, even though it wasn't very far. So I bought a used Honda scooter, cutting my travel time from an hour to 15 minutes. The scooter had no trouble going the speed limit on city streets, and driving it was a hoot! The office I worked in was very staid, so I didn't know what to expect when my boss asked whose helmet was on the coat rack. He took me into his office and showed me numerous pictures of him on his racing bike! After a year, my finances improved to the point where I could buy a car, so I sold the Honda for the same price as it cost me. What a great experience!

How badly do you want to go faster? I have an Aero NB50 [probably same motor as in those Gyros; similar vintage] and Honda stuck a completely normal 4T pipe & muffler on that 2T engine. There are zero go-fast parts for those engines, but if you were willing to f@rt around & make your own expansion chamber & rejet the carb, you could get the powerband to shift higher in the rev band so that it could pull the higher revs needed to go faster. You could also play around with the springs & rollers in the CV drive [those are somewhat generic, so you can find heavier rollers on eBay from ScootDr? or similar...] If you're willing to do more serious surgery, you can tear down the engine & widen the exhaust port [Honda was generally pretty conservative w/ their commuter scoots; don't f!ck w/ the intakes or xfers at all, just remove the cork in the breathing from the too narrow ex port is the info I have from back in the day. A proper ex port can be up to 25% of the cylinder circumference, but you won't want to get too radical; having it narrower at top and widest at bottom would probably do best, to allow both good breathing and good ring control...] As for mapping, just use Google maps & have it do routing for a bicycle, & then double check to make certain it didn't put you on any bicycle/ped/equestrian only type paths...
@AndreS_-df2nw4 жыл бұрын

Mix ratio has too much oil. Also, you'll be better off with synthetics that will allow mixing at higher ratios, like 40 of 50 to 1. More power and less smoke. I'd suggest going big bore, but that is more difficult on two strokes, as exhaust and carb tuning are a pain. I have done many big bore kits on Chinese 4 stroke scooters. Lotta bang for the buck with those.

Does it has a catalytic converter? The ratio oil/fuel used to be about 1 liter of oil per 25 liters of gasoline (1:25). Nowadays there may still be a max of 1:50. Special 2-stroke oil is then required for mixing, ordinary motor oil can pollute the engine. Maybe you used to much oil?

Cost is cheap to bump a little more compression with a new piston and rings (shave head down), cut cylinder to 003 of inch. A LITTLE tight, however it allows heat to transfer easier from piston to cylinder wall and will cool easier. It's a trick I learned from Reno Leoni, (head mechanic for Ducati racing) to keep power and cooling while your holding the throttle wide open climbing a hill.

I have extensive two stroke experience, if piston is good (cylinder,etc), use full synthetic oil, after first rev, it should not smoke at all, if it does, maybe too much oil in gas. Curious does engine reach red line in top gear, 50cc should do 50mph. Take a fine file and cut about 20° angle on all ports so rings have no sharp edges to go by, finish with fine sand paper. On intake use dremmel and rough up all walls including valve stem area, what this does is great turbulence on walls to catch more fuel to be drawn into combustion chamber. If u see race bikes rev engine and fuel must comes back out intake it's because it travel backwards along cylinder wall of intake, losing that from going into cylinder.
@rexsmith64954 жыл бұрын
Pardon me, forgot u don't have valve stems to grind on, however, roughing up intake still works on the intake track to get all the fuel mix into the crank chamber.

My mega Journey was travelling 250 miles from Bognor Regis upto Merseyside. It took two days and I had a sore bum at the end of it. Petrol consumption was great 125 mpg. The only sad part was that the engine died 15 miles from home on the return journey. I had it transported home on a car transporter and the whole street cam eout to watch as it was unloaded. Embarrassment factor! The condensor had failed, a £2.00 piece of kit. If I had had a fly puller I could have fixed it myself. Anyway good luck on your trip whether you end up going.

You should do a trip to Miami Florida As well as it looks like the oil injection system is working because if you even pre Max your oil a little bit with an oil injection system they tend to smoke super crazy so you probably should have drained the 2 stroke tank for the oil injection system so that way you weren't feeding into much to stroke oil and by the way running rich on 2 stroke well in this case actually gave you better performance so your probly going to be looking more at a speed of 28 to 30 miles an hour instead of 34 miles an hour once you are on the proper oil Mix.

What does CA say about mopeds etc? 50cc in some states require no plate or insurance or drivers license but age 14 and up (CT) China they need an F license or anything higher motorcycle, NZ a car license includes a moped. South Africa a moped is 125cc or smaller n can at times he part of car license or you you have a motorcycle license it’s included. How’s all that work in CA?
