Hi Sam, im in Australia and our son has just been diagnosed with DMD... Terrible condition..... just wanting to know how old Archie is and how old he was when you guys found out he had DMD and how far he has progressed, also has his ability to learn at school been affected at all.thankyou for your time and good luck

I am from India, my son 2.9 yrs old shows signs of muscle weakness and shows gowers sign, yet to check with Dr, feeling depressed, I love him to the core and he s such a loving human, who cares everybody

Is it normal for people with this disease to make grimaces with their tongue? and is it normal for them to tangle their tongue non-stop while talking and not know how to pronounce certain letters because of that ??

I have DMD and that never happened to me.

@@Dieguito-ym9sw he stuck his tongue out almost non-stop, chewed it and the like, and when he spoke he had his tongue between his teeth and often interrupted his sentence to make my tongue stick out.

Some researches claim that prednisone , a corticosteroid, helps to slow its progress significantly

I have 2 brothers(Aged 9 and 7)that have dmd and many doctors have offered steroids but it shows many side effects.😢

For symptomatic relief corticosteroids are used. In the US trials on gene therapy have shown good results and have reduced the severity of the disease. They have also been granted FDA Approval

DMD sucks, but Edapt also sucks.
