We have our own version of porridge here in the Philippines. It is called “lugaw” its very similar from what u are doing but here in the Philippines we mixed it with boiled egg , chicken and toasted garlic! Its much better with the boiled egg and it’s perfect for a cold rainy day 😊

My mum makes this amazing dish called jareesh, It’s a Saudi dish that’s kind of like porridge made with fine wheat (I believe), short-grain rice, spices, yogurt, and either chicken or beef stock. It’s SOO GOOD! I squeeze some lemon juice on it and u can finish it off with some caramelized onions on top and it literally becomes the ultimate comfort food.

Theres an Iranian dessert/breakfast you can make with the rice porridge which has saffron ,rose water, cinnamon, cardamom and sugar (or any alternative) and small amount of butter. Definitely worth trying. Can be eaten cold too!!!
