I'm absolutely delighted this is being spoken about, there really needs to be more awareness!

What we truly need to normalise is that painful periods and rapid weight gain is not normal and that PCOS women are NOT “lazy” I’m so thankful 🙏🏽 that this is being publicly spoken about finally PCOS has the public voice it truly deserves, we need more of this.

As a nutritionist the lady should know its not just about what you eat. Women with PCOS suffer from food noise and extreme cravings. No change in diet helps get rid of food noise.
@Hertz2laugh2 ай бұрын
It's not "food noise", it's *_sugar_* noise. It isn't " food cravings", it's *_sugar_* cravings. Sugar is the specific chemical substance that people crave in food. This is just like how nicotine is the specific chemcial substance that people crave in cigarettes or "dip". In other words, it's not food you are after, it is the addictive substance found in some foods → sugar. So, yes, it's literally all about what you eat. When you drink alcohol, you risk alcohol addiction. If you don't out alcohol in your body, you will never get alcohol cravings. If you don't put nicotine into your body, you will never crave nicotine. If you never put caffeine in your body you will never crave caffeine. If you never out sugar (carbs) in your body, you will never crave sugar. 100% about what you out in your body. Sugar is addictive. Don't eat it. Carbs are just grouos of augar molecules. Don't eat carbs. Or do and become a sugar addict and develop PCOS as a side effect of long-term substance abuse. If you want to get rid of "noise" and cravings related to food, do a 90 day zero-carb detox diet. You will go through sugar withdrawals during the first two weeks. Then you will break the addiction. The rest of the 90 days are for building up different eating habits so you don't relapse back into sugar addiction.

@@Hertz2laughpeople don’t develop pcos because they’re sugar addicts, you can be healthy and avoid too much sugar and still have pcos (I do). There’s an assumption pcos people are overweight and unhealthy. There’s plenty of lean pcosers who eat healthy and work out and still have pcos. There needs to be more research and less assumptions
@Hertz2laugh2 ай бұрын
@@cupcaketraveler Believe whatever you want. If you have PCOS and take a fasting insulin test, you will see that you have fasting insulin over 6 uIU/mL. The test doesn't lie. That elevated insulin is coming mostly from eating carbs (a.k.a. sugars). It can also come from poor sleep and chronic stress. Skinny doesn't mean healthy. You can have elevated insulin and be skinny.
@Hertz2laugh2 ай бұрын
@@cupcaketravelerEating sugar raises blood glucose. When your blood glucose goes up, your insulin hormone levels go up. If you're a sugar addict, you're eating sugar multiple times a day because of the cravings. That means you are raising your blood glucose multiple times a day. That means you are raising your insulin hormone levels multiple times per day. If you're a sugar addict, this pattern will repeat daily forever. That means you will have chronic, elevated insulin hormone. Chronic elevated insulin hormone is the main cause of PCOS. So yes, people do develop PCOS because of sugar addiction.

@@Hertz2laugh i was diagnosed 35 years ago. i was never a 'sugar addict' and i don't crave it. I just crave food, all the time. My diet is healthy but i just want to eat all the time. Doesn't have to be carbs of sugar. If i did 'develop' pcos is must have been in my teens but back then i was a normal weight with just irregular periods. Diet is key i agree but the brain signals we get can't just be shut off and not having sugar or carbs does not help, believe me i've tried everything for over 30 years.

I have PCOS. Only got diagnosed earlier this year after YEARS of being dismissed by doctors because I was underweight and they thought my periods stopped because of that, I also have excessive body hair and the doctors thought I was anorexic (but I wasn’t) but even when I got to a healthy weight my periods were still bad (I was put on the pill but it worsened things for me). I finally got the diagnosis, changed certain things about my lifestyle (diet and exercising more) and going on the Contraceptive Patch. I now have periods every months thanks to the patch; my acne has cleared up on my face and luckily I don’t have any acne scars on my face but I have them on my chest and back) and overall I feel better. I’ve also experienced headaches and joint pain but that has also seemed to improve with the patch. It really can be a struggle but it’s good to know that I’m not alone

Mine spontaneously reversed about two years ago. Clockwork periods now. Maybe it would have happened anyhow, but I cut out stress and went to bed at a reasonable hour. I didn't keep to that regime but I still have regular periods and ovulate.

Interesting, feeling how the bloating and pain receded within approximately two months made all the difference, I simply go’ogled the latest by Tilly Strankten and her Ovarian Cyst Guide and although it really took about 10 weeks for it to totally shrink and vanish I’ve never felt so light and relaxed.

I had PCOS. Extremely painful period until they disappeared for 3 moths. Nothing helped. And I trie acupuncture and their herbal tea. Chinese tradition medicine. After 1 session of Acupuncture my period came back and exactly on the day when it used to be. And no pain at all. And after few months I fell pregnant too.
