@@Livingabroadalex Islam in Malaysia and Indonesia is pretty much about religious tolerance but still strict on shared morality especially amongst Eastern cultures. And Ramadhan in Malaysia is the next level with various food Bazaar every evening, and the Tarawikh prayers at the mosques during the night time. Our religious police are actually quite strict than the Middle Eastern countries when it comes to fasting, any Muslims who get caught eating in public during the day can be fined so it's sometimes funny to see the news on that 😆 And 2 weeks into Ramadhan, the Bazaar for Eid will be opened at night where people starts selling Eid clothing and cookies and everything in between. It's like for Malay, we decorated or paint our houses mostly once a year and that is before Eid 😆 My Indian and Chinese neighbors also do the same before their festival ☺️ Gotta remind you, that during Eid, KL will be a bit empty since most people would return back to their hometown to spend time with their family, and the highways will be heavy with traffic all across Malaysia 😄 And I think Malaysia is the only county where we celebrated Eid for a solid one full month 😆 because we take the opportunity to also inviting friends and colleagues to our home during the weekend, or hosting open houses. A lot of government departments will also be holding open houses throughout the month, including the Prime Minister and the Ministers. Free food for everyone 😄 It's a really festive month.

like = people (muslim malay / non malay & non muslim non malay - not annoyingly friendly, love to smile, polite like always say thank you, helpful, sometimes seem snobbish / reserved but once approached they are actually the opposite and etc), a lot of public holidays (due to a lot of races and religions), foods (aftermath of that), every states have sea, beautiful tourism etc... dislike = weather (unpredictable rain, noon too hot), a lot of foreigners, no proper pathways, a lot of opened drains in KL

I’ve been to Malaysia 6 times. I love this country especially their food and friendly people. Yes there are sometimes some are not too friendly but that happens everywhere in the World. For cleanliness they might not be as clean as neighbouring Singapore, but in general their streets are clean and well maintain as well as their infrastructures. Yes it’s worth visiting this country.

Hey Alex thank you for this video. Seems like Malaysia is a hidden gem most people don’t first think of when traveling but it seems like most foreigners have no complaints or negative things to say about the country. Kuala Lumpur definetly looks like a first class city that’s developed and clean and looks very comparable to East Asian cities like Tokyo and Seoul. Also nice shirt btw, perhaps the locals who saw you film during that time will look for your KZbin channel.

For tourist who have just arrived and needs some pointers, get a Grab ride and have a conversation about the place, and English is widely spoken here in Malaysia. You'll most probably get some useful advise on where to go and what to eat in the area. Just my 2 cents. Enjoy!✌️

Want to try different foods in KL? 1. Malay food - Kampung Bharu 2. Chinese - Chinatown 3. Indian - Brickfields Then, get out of KL and head to Ipoh, Penang to the north. Spend sometime in Sabah too. Go hiking, swimming, stroll by the beach and in between.... eat. Eat, chat, sleep and repeat. I guess when God wanted to create Malaysia, He sent the best chefs from China, India and the rest of the globe to Malaysia very early on. Bring with u an umbrella and a big bottle of water. It either rains or it's hot. Have an enjoyable and safe holidays. If u ever in need of help, chat with a Malaysian. From a fellow Malaysian with lots of love and respect.

One thing people should know about Singapore is that it is a red-and-white flag country with Chinese majority. I get a lot of hate comments towards Chinese online eventhough I am not born in China. Hi Philip Masie! That's very hard to be honest so I'll try to give you some thoughts Pros and cons 1. Philippines: happy people, length of stay as a tourist (3 years) and women Cons: internet, transportation between cities, low standards of customer service 2. Thailand: food, English internet, accommodation, infrastructure, beaches, value for money Cons: visa stay only 45 days 3. Vietnam: cost of living, food, coffee , Cons: language barrier, need a visa, 4. Malaysia: Modern, English, food, people Cons: can't think of any right now lol So it really comes down to what you're looking for.

@Living abroad I would say he interviewed some non tourists eg migrant workers here. That is not correct in my opinion. Also sometimes his vlog title has double meaning to attract viewers to watch.
