What's it like to ride in a Hydroplane Racing boat!

I had a chance to ride an unlimited hydroplane back in 1969 I think, in Seattle Washington on Lake Washington. Bernie Little had a fleet of hydroplanes then u-12 Miss Budwiser (they were all the same name, and one of them was a two seater and there was another 4 seater. I was 12 years old and my father built a trailer for them , I hung around their shop and got to know athe guys pretty well and one year they took me out in the two seater. It was as amazing as you think it might be. My driver was a guy named Chuck Hincling and he said we got up to about 175 mph and I can tell you it was like riding on concrete rocks, once was enough.

It's cool hanging out and camping with most of the drivers and teams. They are some pretty cool people to hang out with. That must have been awesome to ride in a 2 seater at those speeds.

Crazy fast.. how they aren't afraid they'll crash is beyond me. Even with all them videos or there of stuff going wrong with these kinds of boats ..

Hey Shu make sure you put # in your video info so people can find it #boatracing #boat #lake Stuff like that if you notice on other channels above the title sometimes you'll see blue # with keywords do when people search general terms of interest they'll find your video tagged... Ex: in my Call of Duty on LSD video I tagged #CallOfDuty, #Warzone, #Xbox ... Etc etc etc

You should have put the camera in the cockpit don’t know why you didn’t maybe not enough room

Thank you for the comment! I wanted to but, the area where his helmet is wouldn't allow for my GoPro mount. We've been invited to more races next month so, hopefully, I'll get the chance to mount one in a couple boats.
