I’ve lived in Cave Creek nearly 25 years as a coffee roaster, but have recently bought a place in Patagonia. It is a beautiful area called “Sky Islands”. There are more species of animals & birds than anywhere in the USA. So many places to explore and hike. I highly recommend a visit!

Don’t forget that Tubac is also one of the filming locations of Tin Cup. They filmed the famed club breaking scene at the golf course there as well as the scene where Costner hits a 3 wood, as Craig Stadler challenges him after Don Johnson’s character laid up, onto the green over water. Tubac also has some really good food! Fun place.

Hi, new sub. Really enjoyed this. I spent a winter in Green Valley working at the horsepistol there and got to know the area. Couple things to mention: Tupac has a pretty amazing car show every year, world class. Patagonia has a special bird sanctuary well worth the visit, too. The wineries, at this time, are trying, but not exactly up to quality yet. Nice little part of AZ like you showed 👍

Please know as a longtime visitor to Tubac, there is somewhat of a conflict over the correct pronunciation of Tubac. Some of us oldtimers have always pronounced Tubac as Tu-back. It's been a way of knowing who is new vs who has been around.

Alot of history there, as well, Mc Culloch and C.V. Woods were instrumental in moving the London bridge there. My uncle was the project manager for developing the town there in 1972, after he left, picking the site of, naming, and being the President of Magic Mountain, in Valencia, California.

Visting these towns is one thing, but living there is whole different experience, and usually it's not good from a white perspective. There is alot of poverty and abuse , and crime nestled within the general population. I used to live in Santa Fe, NM and I can tell you, that it is a beautiful cultural and artistic and historic experience, but you also have to be able to handle the ignorance of the native locals.
