I moved to Arizona in Mar 2020, right when the COVID shut down started. For 2020 and most of 2021, I rarely left the house and my daughter was the only person I regularly interacted with in person. I only recently started getting out regularly and exploring places. One of my 2023 goals is to visit a new area in Arizona every month. Thank you for producing this channel.

I was born and raised in AZ and don't want to move anywhere else. My son bought a new build in Flagstaff several years ago and due to a job transfer he sold that home for more the twice the amount of what he paid. He bought a home in the Verrado area of Buckeye and was able to add a pool. Both him and his wife work for APS. My granddaughter just graduated from Coconino high school, she was the Salutatorian. She has a Lumberjack scholarship to NAU where she will start pre med in the fall. There are a lot of opportunities in AZ. Taking the ski lift at snow bowl in the fall is spectacular, but where warm clothes and a blanket is a must. 🌵👍

I love this channel, it's been so helpful. I'm from Amsterdam, The Netherlands and I'm engaged to an American who lives in Phoenix. I've visited once, I'll be back in November and the plan is that once we get married I'll be moving there. I have to be honest, I do have my concerns, especially when I see Americans saying that they would advice to stay in Europe, because of many reasons, like the gun violence and the bad (expensive) healthcare. So I'm nervous because of those reasons, but after seeing this video it just made me super excited. Because you pointed out so many things that for me are important and attractive. So thank you so much for taking a bit of my concerns away! Keep making these great videos 😃

@Moon Shine Canadians can't just move there and get a job like Americans coming from another state. Canadians can visit and stay up to five months, go back for a few weeks, and then go back to AZ again for another 5 months. As long as we aren't taking jobs, we can buy property and enjoy the state. The only reason we have to come back to Canada is because of insurance and health insurance. If you leave the province for more than 5 months, they consider you as leaving the province permanently, and all the insurance gets canceled.

I love living in Arizona, however, they're making a huge mistake by taking up massive city block after city block with these huge apartment complexes. Each apartment represents multiple people living on top of people, and each one of those people have a car. @Moon Shine public transit would be a good idea if made cheap efficient and above all safe. I rode light rail in Sacto region for many years, at first it was all of the above, but over time it devolved and was less so in all categories. They had transit police who threw free loaders off the train in the middle of nowhere at first, but later city officials found that "cruel on the homeless" and then folks slowly stopped riding and found other means, like carpools to get to and from work. The fairs had to increase due to lower ridership and this spiral continued. I'm far from there now and don't use it but have not found any reports on its status. Same with BART, I used it when brand new, it was great, but now it is deemed unsafe by many folks, like the NY subway system. For the reasons stated above, homeless and criminals using it.

Sky Harbor USED TO BE a convenient airport. Then they built the new terminals and closed terminal 2. Terminal 2 was awesome whereas terminal 3 (and perhaps terminal 4 - I haven't experienced it) is a total cluster-f*** s***-show. Just to get from the gate to baggage claim takes 10-15 minutes and you have to go up and down multiple elevators or escalators. Dropping someone off at terminal 3 is just as bad as the inside of terminal 3 itself. There are multiple pedestrian overpasses and they block visibility of signage that directs you which lanes are needed for each airline.

@ronschlorff70892 жыл бұрын
Good one Jeff. Maybe too good! If you get my drift. One reason for all the things you say positive about our lovely state is the population density is very low, if you get away from the two major population centers of Phoenix and Tucson. And those two places are where the negatives like crime are centered, otherwise yes, if you like the outdoors, it's your place. I paint landscapes en plein air (outdoors) and that's a major reason I'm living here now. Also, we have very little in the way of natural disasters, no quakes, little rain, tornadoes, hurricanes, and no snow unless you seek it out, but rarely "ice ages" like in the east, and your car won't float away in a rainstorm, like in CA now, unless you are stupid in a flash flooded area. And it will cost you big bucks to get rescued; so don't be that stupid guy or gal and drive into what looks like a "little puddle", in your Prius! Get a big truck, first thing, if you move here! ;D But the critters, ah yes, the Crittttttttttters!! You gotta love creepy crawlies, if you move here!! We have millions of snakes, scorpions, and billions of killer bees, so be careful and aware, especially on those picturesque hikes. Put down the selfie stick and phone and look where you put your feet, and which tree you walk under. And bring water, the number one reason for deaths of AZ tourists is from dehydration; it creeps up fast and will kill you in a few hours. Otherwise, it's one of the best places to live, not only in the USA, but the whole planet!! Right Jeff? LOL ;D

Another great video Jeff! We moved to Arizona for many of the reasons that you pointed out in this video. We're loving it here! Go Cardinals!, or ummm, maybe better luck next year😉. Take care sir and looking forward to your next video.

What do you want to know? It's nice, clean, and has pretty affordable housing, and it's far (14 miles) from downtown Tucson, which is a good thing. Claim to fame was, several years ago, a local Sheriff deputy there ran down an illegal alien who was brandishing some kind of weapon in public. The poor guy did not stand a chance against a two-ton squad car. LOL ;D

I’m moving to the Phoenix area soon. I’m looking to start some type of trucking business. I’m not sure what’s the best area to invest in. Towing or dump trucks. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

What are the roads like there? Main highways and artillery streets? In Portland metro there is little to no road maintenance. Potholes and unkept streets/sidewalks make it unenjoyable to walk or drive. Thanks.

As you know big cities have the nice restaurants, some on the top of big buildings with bars and such, pretty nice but a cocktail, not that special, will cost you 14 dollars. That's twice now than what it was two years ago by the way, Thanks again, old Joe!! LOL

Water is getting scarce. Maniacal drivers from out of state especially from CALIFORNIA. People that left blue states continue to vote blue even though Arizona has traditionally been a red state. We are now considered purple although I think in some ways we've gone blue.

from someone who has lived here almost 20 years- the heat in the summer is getting worse. more days over 110 than summers before. im finally moving away before this next summer hits. also the population growing so quickly and a massive lack of public transportation infrastructure causes lots of traffic and congestion that i'll be glad to get away from

I currently live in Southern California, I’m strongly debating between moving to Arizona or Texas. Arizona to me has better weather, but Texas has the bigger economy. Tough choice.
@tonymontana1996 Жыл бұрын
same here bud. i was thinking HARD about TX but yes, property taxes, Homeowners Insurance...these add up quick onto the monthly mortgage payment. Went to PHX last weekend with my wife and the National Parks RIGHT outside of PHX did it for us. TX is flat and the outdoors is important to me --- and yes I'd rather have 110 dry then 105 humid As F lol Austin/Houston/San Antonio summers are horrible...but Dallas isnt bad --- and yes Dallas would have a bigger economy. Make sure to calculate Homeowners Insurance and property taxes into the mortgage equation --- 450k in PHX is about the same as 350k in TX.
