Rabbi Zucker is the real deal! He is the most devoted and dedicated rabbi you will ever have the zechus to meet. On a personal level I can attest to his doing H”M s work. May he have health and long life to be blessed to continue his life’s work. I’m a recipient of his incredible kindness. Thank you for this wonderful interview that attests to his incredible contributions.

Living in Chicago I know a few people who are extremely close with Rav Zucker from their days living in Ramot Eshkol and this was beautiful to watch. I had no clue he was related to Rav Hirsch zlt and this makes his approach even more special (to me). Thank you!!!!!!

The biggest issue today is the same issue that has been around for thousands of years. Assimilation. The balance of life between being an observant (frum) Jew and living in this world is a constant struggle but one that must be 'won' at all costs. Anything less and eventually we lose.
@LittleKikuyu3 күн бұрын
Imo, change is the only constant in the world. For billions of years everything has been constantly changing. There’s assimilation, annihilation, new things being born. There is no winning a „fight“ to me on a philosophical level. Just acceptance. But I understand it’s in human nature to try to cling onto the known. 🙂

Interesting the Rav said the "high cost of living in the US". I live in Israel and all of my children look to US as an easier place to make a living. Very tough here for guys from yeshiva backgrounds to provide for their families. Impossible to even dream of owning a home here.

@David993562 күн бұрын
That was a very, very interesting episode, and there are a lot of takeaways from it and a lot of thought provoking ideas. I only have one comment as to what the Rav said regarding the army issue: I don’t know who he’s been talking to, but it is definitely not just a very small loud group of extremists who are trying to stir up trouble in terms of the army exemptions. The war brought the issue to the fore, but it’s been an unresolved issue for many many years, and no one should fool themselves that the issue was resolved and now suddenly it’s been raised from the dead by the extreme leftists. That is absolutely not the case. I don’t know what the solution is, and of course it is good that the Rav says there should be more awareness and sensitivity in the haredi community, but the problem can be acknowledged as a real problem, even if we don’t have a solution.
@Litefrire2 күн бұрын
This is absolutely true. The Rav should visit some dating leumi yishuvim and speak to the mothers. Slogans and cooking isn't enough
@David993562 күн бұрын
@ I disagree with what you wrote. There’s no need to visit people. A lot of the arguments on all sides are emotional and not rational. I don’t have a solution for the problem, and I don’t know how to convince haredim to serve. It’s definitely not going to happen with people attacking them all the time, or with emotional arguments. All I’m saying is that no one should be fooling themselves, on either side. (by the way, fathers are people too. They’re also concerned about their sons on the front lines)

If you browse nearly any Jewish orthodox newspaper or magazine, you’ll notice that the majority of advertisements emphasize materialism. How many of these ads instead highlight spiritual matters?

Should people involved with watching the news and media consider themselves to be or be thought of as fighters in the information war?

The biggest issue facing am yisrael is the lack of achdus. When we are not united we are attacked. Ahavas yisroel slogans are nice but if we don't solve the draft issue we will be a divided people with deep hatred for the otherside under the surface. The army are 10,000 soldiers short, if we want people learning to be left alone to learn, we must allow those not learning or not learning properly to serve. If the 18 years of charadi education hasn't done enough to protect these boys when they go to the army, their education has failed them. Maybe we need a six month emunah , and tefilla training before they go to the army. But, if the charadi community doesn't step up and do something all your slogans of ahvas yisroel will go nowhere. In addition where is the source that a risk to a person's spiritual wellbeing is more important than a threat to our physical existence. Rav elyashiv said that israels war are a milchemes mitzva, what is the justification if someone is not learning to not fight? The issue is not complicated, and going back to when the state was created isn't helpful. We are where we are now and we need charadi leaders to step up to the challenge. Or, the hate in Israeli society will get out of control. And this is not from the secular left, it's from the torani community whose mother's are sending their husbands and sons to die for us. Signed a charadi mother Worried about the future for the Jewish people

All we need to know about IDF…doson and aviram were not the greatest tzaddikim by a long shot. They took petch for klal yisrael and the sea split a second time just for them!! IDF soldiers are leaps and bounds greater men and women than these two could have ever imagined, and they too take petch for klal yisrael.
