Melanie, several years ago I read a book titled "Catering by Milton" written by the late Milton Williams. He was a caterer to the old school entertainers who never advertised, only attained clients by word of mouth. In his book he said alot of the same or similar things that you should never reveal to your clients, period! You look gorgeous, as always. Take care 💞

Great advice. Question for you though. As you speak about not talking negatively about another vendor to a client...What if YOU KNOW a vendor is a hot mess. And you know this because you know they have messed up many other clients to the point where lawsuits were involved to get their monies back. Do you caution this new client coming to you OR do you keep your mouth shut and let them experience the same treatment? What if they press you for details?

I made a big mistake I did a visual board the client stole my ideal and had someone else to do it... lesson learned and might I add: Please please make sure your contact is signed and dated and you've received that nonrefundable deposit. I think people are less likely to go too someone else once a deposit has been made..

Hi Melanie. Thank you so much for all your videos but particularly this one. My first wedding is next month and I have already made most of these mistakes. Because I was using this event to determine whether I would pursue this as a career, I broke a lot of the rules and you would probably pass out. LOL. I have been studying and gleaning from your wisdom and designing skills since the days of your foam board backdrops. I will share with you all that I have done with the event and hope that you approve of my work. I'm praying that God blesses me with an opportunity to take one of your classes this year.
