I think the concept of the playing cards is fine for a VIP gift, but the presentation they went for just in a cardboard box left a lot to be desired. A beautiful leather or canvas hard box so they could be used as a decor would have been amazing. I definitely see how not receiving a more personal gift like previous years would be disappointing.

Totally get where you are coming from. I think if LV skipped the playing cards it would have seemed better. Your family did awesome and thoughtful, I think the mandala coloring book is a brilliant idea so you can also spend time having fun with your daughter. My Dad sends a check and my Mom just asks me what she can help pay for of what I’ve been wanting, then she buys skin care items and such so we are similar in family gifts. 😊

Don’t take it personal Meredith. I can tell you from an inside perspective the luxury brands are unfortunately majorly cutting back on VIP gifts (at least in 2024). I agree the gifts were low level with of the LV ornaments and Fendi. The cards and the bag is a big …..WHY. But that just goes to show these brands don’t care about anything other than the bottom line. These are not real relationships they are built on spending. People forget money is not that impressive other things come along with it.

Hi Meredith fr a marketing view point the LV gifts does seem a tad inconsistent. I worked @ a Cr Union & the marketing dept. came out with a slogan “it’s not about the money” non sensical imho (what the Cr Union we’re going to sell knock kneed penguins, do penguins have knees)⁉️ I believe the economy has a lot to do with the lack of thought put into 2024’s Christmas gifts by the large luxe houses. I agree with the playing cards from LV being underwhelming when compared to what they have given before. There was not much thought into them. The ornaments however are stunning and much more special and unique than those in the advent calendar.

I did an update not long ago. Maybe 6 weeks ago. I had underlying health issues that have now been resolve and that allowed the sleeve to go back to doing its job.

I think LVMH (with the recent business dynamics), they have a much lower promotional budget for VIP gifts in 2024. If the Murakami relaunches do well in 2025, the gifts at the end of 2025 will be MUCH better :)

I know what you mean about the change in the gifts. My friend is part of the Mecca Insiders where they complete feedback and surveys every week for Mecca which ends up taking hours of her time after doing it for a year, they were gifted cheap Mecca Max products compared to more prestige brands and items n previous years, I think it's quite poor considering they inundate Influencers thousands of dollars of products every month.
