How can I apply job in Australia from UAE?
@Wombat-gm4ne10 ай бұрын
A very good video. As a local I'll add a few points... 1. Australia currently has extremely low unemployment with employers in many industries finding it hard to find workers which translates to if you have the right experience, qualifications or just willing to work you shouldn't find it hard to get a job, it may not be exactly what you want long term but it will be a job. 2. Full time staff get 20 days paid annual leave (pro rata if part time) with a holiday pay loading above your normal rate of 17.5%.(to make up for no over time when on holidays). 3. Over and above your normal hourly rate there is an extra pay loading for working extra hours, on weekends and public holidays (usually does not apply to more senior managers) Normal shift - 100% Working outside your normal spread of hours - 125% Saturday - 125% Sunday 7 am to 7 pm - 150% Sunday 12 am to 7 am and 7 pm to 12 am - 175% Public Holiday - 250% 4. Employers in addition to the wage they pay an employee must also pay equivalent of 11% into the employees superannuation fund (retirement pension fund) which the employee only access to when they reach retirement age. 5. Most employers expect employees to take their full 20 days annual leave each year, you can't be forced to take all the leave but it's preferred if you do.

U do an awesome job on talking about Australian life to foreigners (which we need to fill jobs in our society).. but I must correct u on the topic of finding a job.. it’s so easy to find a job in Australia and in most industries we have a shortage of employees.. so if u r living in another country and u r thinking of coming here… please come on down we need more people.. seriously if u want a change and a good paying job think of Australia.. u don’t need a degree to earn top dollar in Australia.👍

I'm honestly very interested in what you say - I've been working and living in the Netherlands for the past seven years and I want a change, with Australia being at the top of my list. Which industries would you say it is easy for immigrants to find work in? I've worked as a marketer and English teacher my whole life, so I'm wondering if I could do something similar in Oz...

I like your clips very informative. I am an Australian. I worked for Australian Federal Government more 20 years for two organisations. As you said there's no discrimination at work place. We are very strict on respecting individuality. When my kids were young we were offered Purchase leave 48/52. It was additional to normal 4 weeks Annual leave. We can take additional 5 weeks and it is unpaid leave adjusted accordingly to your pay scale. It was so handy when you have school going kids. We had to apply one year ahead to get the approval so management can work out their staffing levels. I used to take 5 weeks Purchase leave and 4 weeks Annual leave divided among kids school term holidays. Many of us with young kids used that benefits. It was so helpful. I don't know private companies had the Purchase leave system. Working as a Public Servant there's so many benefits and equal opportunities.

As an Australian I enjoy watching these kinds of videos to gain insight into other cultures opinion living in Australia and the differences etc. However one thing that stands out on your channel and separates you from the rest is the accuracy of your content. Not everyone goes to the trouble of properly researching these topics and merely speaks from their (sometimes misguided) experience, whereas it's clear you've got a good grasp of the topic and topped it up with your research. Nice work and good content for those new to Australia or considering coming here to live. 👍

I am highly impressed about Australian society .... they sound so intelligent , giving so much high priority to the psyche of people especially in the work place. I see that they dont kill themselves working like an animal cause the economy over there seems stable. when I have seen how people interact in society as in your previous videos like in college campus , ...everyone seem to be so respectful to one another .... there is no hanging out , I mean , like loitering around other neighbors houses , campus and the likes. my gosh! Hi Martina, I love your vlog and very truthful information about Australia and society in general. I understand your blog is aiming mainly to younger generation, but you missed one work benefit, which is maybe less relevant in modern times, but is VERY nice one, if you managed to work for the same employer longer than 10 years, you are entitled to so called Long Service l Leave, which is 3 months paid holiday!😉 another detail is that when you have an annual leave, which is your 1 month holiday, you are getting extra 17.5 % of your hourly salary on top of each day, you go for holiday. This sort of work benefit is unheard beyond Australia, but it exists nearly 100 years and history is that because of a huge distance from England and Europe, Australian Parliament of that time has passed legislation to compensate the work travelling time (app. 6 weeks by sea). Funny thing is that nobody dares to change this law to adjust it to modern times.🤣

Thanks for this video. Is it normal for employers to ask how much my previous ctc or salary was? And if I am an immigrate would my salary from my previous job in my home country be considered?
@livingsimplyaustralia Жыл бұрын
Hi! In some instances, they do ask what your previous salary was - usually to determine skill level & experience and/or match their offer (this is also most relevant when negotiating your salary -after receiving an offer-, they may ask for previous payslips for example). But if your previous job was overseas and your salary package is not really comparable to that of the Australian market, then, it might not be considered as relevant. In that instance, they may look at your skills and experience as a whole.

An example of current august 2024 working conditions in Australia when we desperately need 40,000 tradesmen. Employers have to work hard to both attract and importantly retain good people. Each “Canvanaut employee ” receive free breakfast, lunch and snacks from its in-house chefs, along with a gym membership, employee assistance programs, stock options and the option to join its social clubs such as Dance Club, Wine Club or Friday Foodies. Second example “Atlassian employees” meanwhile receive an annual learning budget, health and life insurance, and paid days to volunteer at a charity. Airwallex offers some perks including generous paid parental leave and subsidised yoga, but has come under scrutiny for its high-pressure culture, high turnover and gruelling work hours.

Could be worth touching on the compulsory superannuation scheme, as that’s an extra 10% of pay per quarter and keeps accruing over your work life until you retire. What’s especially important for temporary residents is that it’s a bit challenging/expensive to withdraw that superannuation money in the event that you want to leave… lots of migrants either don’t know much about superannuation or are shocked when they find out that their retirement money has been seized by the ATO due to inaction

Hi I would like to ask you a few questions if it is ok. After the 3-6 months probation do you get permanent contract or the employer may force you to sign another temporary contract? What is the law there saying? Also which visa did you use to emigrate there? I am EU national and I am not sure which visa is best for me. Which visa is easier to get to work straight away in big cities in Australia (not regional Australia)?
@livingsimplyaustralia Жыл бұрын
Hi Viktor, thanks for your questions. 1. The probation period is mainly a performance review - meaning, if the employer is happy with your performance, then your contract (whether it is fixed term or permanent) continues until the stipulated date (note that if it's permanent your contract is ongoing). However, if you don't pass the probation period, the employer may give you the chance of further training, and/or they may let you go - this is regardless of the type of contract you have (for more info on probation period-related laws see Fair Work www.fairwork.gov.au/starting-employment/probation). 2. For visa-related advice I highly recommend checking the Department of Home Affairs website (immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/visas/getting-a-visa/visa-finder) and/or contacting a MARA registered migration agent (always make sure they are MARA registered - portal.mara.gov.au/search-the-register-of-migration-agents/) - In my case, I migrated first on a student visa (completed my bachelor degree in psychology here) and then 457 sponsor visa (no longer available), and then PR, and then citizenship. 3. I think your ability to get a job and how easy it is for you to get it, depends not so much on the type of visa (as long as it's valid to work in Aus of course), but on your skillset and/or occupation and how well you showcase your skills. I have a video where I explain my experience in more detail kzbin.info/www/bejne/d6jXY4mqe5qnaMk Hope this helps, Martina

@livingsimplyaustralia Жыл бұрын
Hi! Thank you for your question :) To know whether your occupation is in demand in Australia, salary, etc., I highly recommend watching this video kzbin.info/www/bejne/d4KzoHRrfdKkms0 - If you come here to study as an international student you'll be able to work while you study, and upon graduation you may be able to apply for a postgraduate visa that allows you to work full time (highly recommend checking out the Department of Home Affairs website under 'visa options' for more info, and/or contacting a MARA registered migration agent). Hope this helps :)
