I love my home. Grew up in Walker and have many fond memories. Today though, there is a lot of meth and poverty. The schools have gone down too.

A lot of the history of Springfield was omitted. It was originally called bookters landing. My 4th great grandfather John Reid opened the first fed post office in1803. When parish seat was moved to Livingston he then served in that post office.and six miles north of Livingston my great grandfather Charles ephriam Reid started a babtist church I believe it was called Hebron b church. My grandfather and great uncle's were the builders .this info came from a book on Livingston parish history in library Morehouse parish Bastrop la.
