Absolutely love the lido walk by the ocean, it's so different to the heart of Funchal, this is why I love Madeira so much, it's perfect, it reaches out to you and once you have been you get hooked, i have so many wonderful memories and am planning to be back in 2025, thanks for sharing another fabulous video.

I came back from Madeira on Thursday. It was very warm and air humidity was high, too. Would like to go when temperatures are lower.... like in spring. Madeira is a very beautiful island and I enjoyed my stay, though. People are nice and friendly.

Well-made video, I have been to Madeira 3 times on holiday and have tried to follow some of your walks. Never enjoyed anywhere as much as Madeira the charm and magic keep drawing me back. Keep up the good work, many thanks.

Oh HD, how I wish you could be here with us. You'd be capturing some black and white moments in the old town in the daytime and we'd meet for a cool beer in the lido in the evening... ah yes, perhaps one day? Eek a foot of snow.... brrrr don't know how we'll cope with the cold when we return to blighty, not sure how I'd manage with snow! All the best to you chum!

Well, Restaurante Marisqueira O Barqueiro may be well worth a visit for your viewers' benefit. Pre-Covid they had quite a display of fresh seafood upfront plus a bunch of lobster tanks. If you could sneak a spot with the manager's permission inside to film the platters coming out from the kitchen and have each server explain what is on each platter, your viewers would get quite a treat! It's pretty epic!

Glad you enjoyed it G, yes the University of Madeira is a Portuguese public university, created in 1988 in Funchal. The university offers first, second cycle and Doctorate academic degrees in a wide range of fields I believe .

We visit Lido every year, and stay at the Pestana Palms. Other excellent restaurants in the Lido area are Goldie, Ajuda, Madmarket and Goya. Reccomended!!!

Hi Jax FI, it was the first week of Jan' and although overcast was quite a warm day, around 19 degrees. The prior weeks had reached 24 degrees.

Hello! Been to Madeira twice, the last time I went was in April 2015 when I was 11, I'm 18 now so not really sure what it is like now and thinking of maybe visiting again late this year or next year hopefully, what there is to do on a budget, any suggestions would be great!

Hi Danielle, I'd say have a look at some more of the walks here so you can see more of what the island is like. Nightlife is pretty low key if that matters to you. The levada walking is spectacular, so I'd say that's the high point if you're into hiking. I have a levada walk on the channel if you want to see more. Hope you have a great time if you go.
