I strongly believe that such educational programs should be implemented in every school, especially those that cater to children from agricultural backgrounds. Many nations neglect to incorporate farming education in schools that serve rural communities. This is a missed opportunity to foster a scientific mindset and a passion for agriculture among the young generation. Farming can be a rewarding and fulfilling career choice for them.

I believe in your sample you are looking at currents in the water caused by some air movement surrounding the microscope slide. Is there a circulating fan in the ceiling for example blowing air down into the vicinity of the microscope? I've observed this phenomena myself just from gentle breathing onto the microscope stage , even using a coverglass. The air around the scope should basically be as still as possible.
@alexandrevaliquette3883 Жыл бұрын
Currents and non-living things movement are not caused by wind. It's just a reality in the microscopic world. The short movement on high magnification are 'Brownien movement' and the 'river' are caused by any small variation of temperature, evaporation, topology and salt concentration on the sample. Sure, wind will increase theses effects (more evaporation, cold, hot = movement). My whole point: mainly, the air movement are not directly the reason of the particles movement. Hopefully, it help you 4 years after you wrote this comment. Or it might help someone else, who know! Love from Montréal

What's so bad about anaerobic organisms? KNF and JADAM gardening encourage them quite a bit and people seem to have really good vegetable garden results. They are constantly dumping buckets of them into the soil.
@JNNikolas2 жыл бұрын
I wonder if the anaerobic organisms die when exposed to air and feed the soil. So they'd be good to add by the bucket, but not necessarily good to find already in your soil. But I'm also very new to all this.

The microscope camera you are using is pretty rough. I wonder if it would have looked better through the trinocular.

If you fill it up to 1ml with soil and then fill it up to 5ml with water, wouldn‘t that be a 1:4 ratio? 1 part soil, 4 parts water. She said 1:5. Not a huge deal but i wonder what is right.
@fl0yd133 жыл бұрын
she said 1 in 5 not 1 to 5 I believe.

I thought the same. Still wonder why they reference the total volume instead of the volume of water in their ratios

I would like to send you a sample of my worm castings (Eisenia Fetida, AKA: Red Wrigglers) to check out. I put a lot of time and effort into caring for my Vermi-Culture. I feed them a very diverse, and very high quality diet of wholesome organic inputs. I feed them very specific ingredients in the hopes that it produces a balanced spectrum of fungal and bacterial biology. I don't own or have access to a microscope (although I plan on getting one) so I haven't been able to check the biology in my vermicompost, however, I have a feeling that its full of probiotic life. If you're interested, let me know how to get a sample out to you. I think you'd be pleasantly surprised at the biology present in my worm castings, not to mention I would love to know myself.

@@williamccjr definitely not alot. Maybe 15 or 20 lbs I guess. Whatever size available at the big garden stores. Id rather give my money to the small time farmers than those guys though. That small amount may not be worth your trouble, if so I understand.
@williamccjr4 жыл бұрын
@@johndenver5029 I don't have quite that much castings to spare, however, I can do you one even better. I make high quality AACT (Actively Aerated Compost Tea), both Veg and Bloom. You use 1/2-Cup of the Base, with 1/2-Cup of the Boost (equal parts of both) for every 5-Gallons of Tea/Brew. This is significantly more beneficial than just EWC alone, as it contains everything a plant needs to thrive, not to mention that brewing it multiplies the probiotic biology exponentially, and is the most economical, efficient and effective way to utilize EWC. I can do 3-Pounds of Tea (1-1/2lbs Base + 1-/1/2 Boost) for $30, and 6-Pounds for $50.
@williamccjr4 жыл бұрын
@@johndenver5029 I'll tell you what, I'll send you a 1lb sample of my tea, Veg formula, and you just pay the shipping (about $3). If that sounds good, let me know, we'll correspond through email from there.
