6:40 buffers work GREAT for overland run off, but it is all the creeks feeding that lake that bring in the soil. No amount of buffer can stop that, you need living soils, this guy should be head of the EPA.

Two Questions; 1. What is the proper way to incorporate lime? Spread it and let it soak in and down or disk it once and never dye it again? 2. In timber country, after a timber crew comes and drives all over the land and really packs the ground, do you still no till the very packed ground?

Just put down compost over the packed ground. The biology will get into the soil and repair the soil structure. Active Arayed compost tea can also be sprayed on the packed area. Good compost will buffer your soil PH better than lime and permanently unless your nutrient and water cycles and soil biology falls apart…?

...."some of our no-till spray too much .... the last words in this session; real picture of what is going on. Here in metropolitan area of Barcelona (not speaking of the city centre as it is completely f...ckd up), gardeners have no clue about healthy soils, going around, destroying the last bit of life in the poor soil that we ve got, uncovering the soil, tilling, working the last bits of humidity out of it. Then people are crying that everything is dry and desertification is taking over. On the other hand when you try to explain they look at you like "are you crazy ?". You are right Ray, the most dificult part is to get the message in their brains ; we risk to be extinct in few hundred years. Here they are concerned about mobile world whatever, winter olimpics aberration (even producing artificial snow at the expense of huuuuge amount of energy , still remains a mediterranean climate not efective to host such games) - total madness, concentrating on private cars polution, when the bulk of it is not coming from private cars but from other sources. etc, etc on the other hand developing parts of Collserola with the help of corrupt politicians that can stop it if they want to. There is an area (Sant Luis ) where to develop they stolen land from an ecosystem to build some flats , over there one can clearly see how they entered in; pressing the nature, not giving it space to recover; moreover a bridge is build , destroying even more ecosystems , let people walk, is healthy, there really is no need for the bridge.
