DeYoung Family Zoo

We took the family to the DeYoung Family Zoo for Memorial Day. Cool little place in the Upper Michigan.

Been there many times. As a yooper we love and support this family almost every year. Always enjoyable. Deyoung family zoo is a beautiful and educational stop for all in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.

What? Your family looks like they didn't like the zoo. I love that zoo. Got to feed and pet a hippo for free three times. We went inside with the deer and they gave us food to feed them. Held a baby sloth and baby porcupine. Watch her go inside and feed and pet the hyenas. The kids threw marshmallows to the bears. She went into the wolf area and made wolves howl. If you do the tour with Carry it's awesome but if you go and just walk around it's just ok.

We're going there on Father's Day and I was wondering if you can recall what time they feed the big cats. I think it's at 1pm but I'm not 100% sure and nobody answers the phone when I call😕

Anyone that would go into the enclosures with the wild animals in front of the public is not setting the right example for their patrons! The fact that they have wolf cubs means that they are breeding and selling! Animals that are born into captivity do not have a good life they are not wild and free! They are caged and have to depend on people to care for them! If you would see that this is a big problem you would not support these kind of roadside zoos!
