OMG! This video brings back so many memories for me! Two weeks after graduating from Brandeis University I landed in Nairobi before going to my volunteer teaching position in Morogoro, Tanzania at Kilakala Secondary School. That place became my home . I loved it! Everyday I hiked through the woods to school, going to and from. I was 22 years old and celebrated my 23 birthday there. I am now 74 years old and I thank Almighty God for giving the opportunity to go back to my ancestral home and spend a year there. God Bless Mother Africa❤️! My Native Land!

@@LIVKENYA Moshi saw better days in 1950s to 1970s. Coffee was fetching better prices on the world market and the Chagga were affluent. They still are but those left in the villages aren't as fluidy as those of the earlier years. Towards Tanganyika independence, the Chagga were prepared to have their own country a move which was not practical. You can search Chagga Nation, Mangi(Chief) Marealle, Meli, Sina, Shangali on KZbin.
