I just ordered this stove last night for a bit under $16 . It does appear to be smaller than I thought. I'll mostly use it with an alcohol burner but it's nice to have the wood option . Good review. Thank You!

I have this one in my buy later list, I have the Dragon Horse wood stove from boundless voyage and was going to buy their other hinged stove but I think I will get this one. I have the same canteen kit this looks like it would pair nice. Good video

Trangia original alcohol burner is more efficient than the Chinese version. Trangia is more fuel efficient. I have a Trangia alcohol burner with the temperature regulator from the Chinese version. Simply because it can be held without getting too close to the fire.

If Lixada says it's titanium, it's titanium. Like you, I have lot's of titanium gear to include bicycle components. I also have two versions of a Lixada stick stove both of the same design both in stainless and titanium and there is deferentially a difference in weight and characteristics between the two. The titanium one weighs much less, cools much faster, and it gets that blue patina when I've heated it... Both are the same model but each are made of different metals. Lixada also makes a stainless version of the stove you're showing here so that explains why some say it's not titanium.

They have both a titanium version and a mixed alloy of titanium & stainless steel, which his design is the mixed alloys; And although the stainless steel added to the titanium will add a few grams in weight, I can’t see it being so much that it’s noticeable when carrying. This alloy mix makes this stove much more sturdier than having one or the other separately. Added bonus, stainless steel is a non corrosive alloy.

@@MinimalistExplorerEDC How does a mixture of stainless with titanium bring an added non corrosive bonus since titanium is already non corrosive? I don't know where you're finding Lixada offering a titanium and stainless mix since I'm not finding it anywhere. Lixada does offer either stainless or titanium versions but as far as I can tell they don't offer a hybrid of both. Stainless is stronger than titanium but for the same weight titanium is much stronger. Most manufactures don't offer thicker titanium pots since their main goal is to make them lighter but if they chose to do so they could add enough thickness to bring the strength up to a level where those pots would be stronger while still being lighter. To shed light on this point I have two military grade optics, both made by the same manufacture and both being the same model with the only exception being that one of them is made of titanium while the other is made of 7075-T6 (space grade) aluminum. The 7075-T6 model is already military grade but the titanium version in this case weighs slightly more than the aluminum version but it's at least 3 times stronger. The reason for this is that with the titanium version, rather than reducing the amount of metal used to construct the titanium version (which they could have done while maintaining the same level of strength), the manufacture chose instead to use the same wall thickness for both models. This made for an optic that far exceeds that of the aluminum version as it comes to strength. Aluminum, even 7075-T6 which is the strongest aluminum alloy weighs slightly less than titanium, however titanium is so much stronger than aluminum which means that much less of the metal is needed for equal strength.

@@4th_Lensman_of_the_apocalypse I use heet it’s awesome!! And cheap!!! But make sure you get the yellow bottle and not the red one. The red one burns really dirty. You can get it at almost any store like Walmart or gas stations. It’s great!

I bought one on Amazon.. waiting for burner.. monoxide alarm went off with a couple twigs test. good stuff works in a pinch. just using alcohol from now on. electricity is as much as diamonds

Is it magnetic 🧲? If it is, it's steel, if not, it's titanium. As a brain surgery survivor, I can attest to titanium not being magnetic, as I have a couple plates & screws in my noggin, that I've tested with a magnet 🧲 and 10+ MRi's, they wouldn't let me in their machine

Lixada and Tomshoo are made of titanium and aluminium mix. For food its actually a disaster as its poisonous, but its just a stove so YES.
