Such a beautiful song. This musical really deserves more attention and I just imagine it getting a movie. Only in a dream though. But hopefully that dream can be reality one day.

My 5 month pregnant daughter just visited her home in the Midwest from Oregon last week, and we all got the chance to feel our first grandchild "kick." What joy! I sent the lyrics of this song along with a KZbin recording by Liz to her as a love gift from me, her father. These are joyous times, and, I will take them when they come!

"The Story Goes on", the act one finale from Maltby and Shire's "Baby" is a classic moment in musical theatre. Just like "Nothing" from Chorus Line, "People will Say we're in Love" "America" and the act one finale, "sunday" it is a moment of history all by itself and the reality is that the naterial, the concept and the performance of the remarkable Liz Callaway all come togehter to create this. We're lucky to see this bootleg live.

David Seaman I actually saw her play the role in NYC when it first came out. Liz Callahan had (and still has) terrible allergies and couldn't sing In the top register. 'Somehow EVERYBODY sang it like that. I auditioned for and got the role of Lizzie in 1985 from Berea Theater

In the late 70s, I took a musical theatre class at HB Studio. I hadn't had any previous training. Anyway a young girl who had just arrived from Chicago was in the class and sang her song just before I did. She sang a song called, "Another 100 People" from Company. I just witnessed a future Tony Nominee, her name was Liz Callaway. I wanted to skip out of that class so fast, unfortunately I didn't, thats okay though, I witnessed the making of a star...good enough for me...

consider two things...she was only 22 when she did this and in 1983 video recorders sound quality was not very good (it sounds tinny). I've never hear anyone say that Liz's voice wasn't or isn't extremely pleasant to the ears.

There is an off-Broadway production of "Baby" playing through December 12th, 2021 presented by Out of the Box Productions.

This show definitely did not age well, but this song, as well as a handful of others in Baby are really standouts. Chills always. An updated revival could be great!

I remember watching this play at my college and it was a beautiful production. I remember this particular song from the play . . . . the musical arrangement and the lyrics. After watching that play I tried to find that song on KZbin and I'm glad that I could find it and I found it--the original version and this performance from Liz Callaway is BEAUTIFUL AND FLAWLESS! Her version of the song is the definitive one!

The musical is about three couple all expecting babies at the same time. But the husbands and wives all have different outlooks on the prospective new member of the family. For example, one couple is very late middle aged and the wife isn't sure she wants to have another baby now that the family has grown up. The score is fantastic.

why is it that people like Justin Bieber can sell more cds then someone like liz who has more talent in her pinky then people like Bieber. How in the world did this ever happen?

justin bieber has talent💀 no need to undermine someone else’s talent to praise hers...

We follow the reactions of three couples at different ages: college-age, 30s, 50s, finding out they are expecting a baby and how they deal with it. Lighthearted, poignant, positive. Liz Callaway, gloriously sings this ballad and plays the college girl.
