I really liked Liza Minelli's version, different with a lot of rhythm.

...ahhh, Summer, 1990....N&L did a fabulous re-work; the longer intro allows the tune the 'breathe', and we hear the PSB instrumentation better, giving it a majestic feel...I used to mix this with Debbie Harry's 12' remix of "Sweet & Low"... I had the U.S. Liza promo CD-5 (w/ the B&W 'Jailbird Liza' shot 0:12) ...netted a VERY pretty penny for it! ....PSB & Liza were TREMENDOUS....

RA: As much as I like Liza, this version (not this remix) takes the balls out of the original. It had some nice touches, such as the French Horns in the original intro, but sadly it will never have the emotional kick that Yvonne Elliman’s was so loved for. Nice remix though.
