I couldn’t agree with them more. I still remember Beagle/Furby/Lizard/Theotis giving me a ride too La Canada High and skating the 11 and beagle helped me get a line. I’m on 29 and so much has changed. I love that there’s skateparks everywhere but I miss the exclusivity of skating back in the early 2000s even up until 2012 it all changed so quickly. Instagram kinda killed skate videos. I have so many good memories I still remember how much I loved living in La with so many good spots and loved being able too run into skaters I looked up too at random spots.

So many videos get out pumped out constantly I think that's the reason we get anxious and impatient waiting for a video to be released. Baker 4 is going to be so good everyone will forget how long it took to come out just like the deathwish video or plan b true.

100% Agree with what they had to say about kids dropping skating back on and off and how its getting so commercialized now and about the internet thing ruining certain aspects of skating and patients. This was a really good interview with actual good content in it and not like other interviews that are a waste of time where they ask about the most meaningless shit. Ditto about Jamie Thomas being my favorite skater too. Keep it up Skate Warehouse, you guys definitely have a reason to be proud of your company. You guys are definite contributors to the skate community.

The thing Erik said about patience at the end... Absolutely true! That's why so many scooter garbage shit is out there.... those kids want EVERYTHING, and NOW... Who has days, or weeks to learn a goddamn tre flip..... I can learn a tailwhip on that shit in one day.... They want everything already finished, and they want it now! No patience for struggling and fighting for something like you have to when you want to see progress of yourself in skating. And yeah, full movies are a lot better than video parts. Ordering pizza, bring some beers, and watch the new baker video or sth...

ha. being 30 & from Long Beach in soCal, skating was everything between ages 11 to 14. I just remember Sorry & Baker Bootleg/2g coming out & sitting at my local shop(United Boardshop) watching them & Fulfil the Dream constantly until I was able to get the $ to buy them... 411 vids along w/those & the zero & girl stuff; 're watching them dozens of times. Baker 2g I'd seen fcking 400 times or more. miss those days.

I completely agree about the internet and the video part thing man... 100% the internet can take the value out of so many things we hold near and dear like skateboarding.. In our day if you couldnt figure the tricks out or didnt know about them all together you had to go and find it out there in the real world and put effort into doing the things we loved... just to be a good skater in my day you had to hope you could find older skaters who knew what they were doing and you could learn from them and the mags bc there was no internet there was no videos yet.. so we had to use our imagination and actually be invested in skateboarding to actually get good at it bc it was so rare to see unless you were lucky enough to live near or in a city where things got around and ppl heard about it..bc other wise you couldnt find any new info.. it was tough for awhile but that didnt hold us back... now a days you can learn how to do any trick at the drop of a hat and have it basically done for you so it just takes away the passion and love behind it

In agreement with alot of what they said, the internet has desensitized skateboarding. Thrasher puts on skateboarding you want to see, its selective. I don't see harm though in people trying skateboarding, appreciating and having an interest, you don't always need a passion for it.There needs to be less influence on instagram or youtube popularity and just enjoying it for what it is.
