Beautiful collection of memories! How amazing that you got to play with Tolga and the hose!!! I remember watching feeding time for a pair of otters some years ago (I think that was in Devon, or maybe Cornwall). As the keeper dropped individual bits of food into their enclosure (mussels maybe?) the boy gobbled each one straight down, but the girl took it to the water and washed it before eating it, every time! So cute to see the personalities!

Liz, thank you for sharing your sketchbook…really inspiring. I loved seeing the gingko leaves. I lived in Korea for 20 years, where the trees are native. I’ve always loved the shape of the leaves, they are a brilliant bright green in spring, bright vibrant yellow in autumn…and the fruit is incredibly stinky 😂

Hullo Liz, I enjoyed the trip update! Your so very good at the onsite drawings and paintings too! I know it takes practice, yet I believe in talents and for some it is just easier for some people! i have the most trouble with Speed and working faster! It truly does not matter how long I practice I just have one working speed and it just has not gotten any faster in the years and years of me trying! Glad to watch someone who has it down!
@LizChadertonArt3 күн бұрын
I know I emphasised speed here. It’s because I was with people and wanted to respect their time, but slow drawing can be so relaxing and mindful. Speed isn’t necessary unless it’s about to rain
@mjpete273 күн бұрын
@@LizChadertonArt well a certain amount of speed is essential in any location painting/drawing/art creation! I am methodical and well I am just slow. I have just never been able to turn that corner and gain speed, I am currently working with soft pastels trying to be looser and leave out details? I have been working for 3 years now, yet I am a plodder and I just enjoy going at my slow pace and I suppose that I will always need that photo to remind me of the details I am unable to get down on my paper/canvas! Digital photos have become an essential tool for me. No more developing film and printing out references! I must have over 100K+ negatives to be scanned from the days when I had my own darkroom and developed my film and made prints. I bet 30K is just flowers! Thanks for the space to ramble on, your an amazing person as well as a wonderful Artist!

Gorgeous painting at the end of your sketchbook. It's like a grand finale! I can't believe you accomplished that with tempera paint sticks. I always associate tempera with stinky, messy elementary school painting.😊

Very interesting video and tips, thanks. I've got a request for you, if you wouldn't mind. Could you put your extra info, the sentences of tips, etc. on the top of your videos rather than the bottom because I read the subtitles and they happen to appear right on top of what you have written. It would be much appreciated. 🙂

Quick question- I apologize if I missed this detail, but does the Stabilo 88 soften after it dries well?
@LizChadertonArt3 күн бұрын
not at all - good question. yes, it will soften, but once you’ve wet it once, it won’t move again. Somehow the water ends up fixing it.
