I always enjoy your videos. This one is particularly useful in so many ways. Knowing that a professional artist struggles with all the same challenges that we hobbyists do, makes it less daunting to go out and try it ourselves. Thank you so much for sharing yourself and your art. PS. I’m glad that there is someone there with you. ☮️💙🙏 from Florida 🇺🇸

Another outstanding out and about sketch! You made that building stand out. Also, hope you picked up the water brush that fell. I was actually trying to let you know it was by your foot when you were using the chisel … then, well, I realized that you couldn’t hear me.😂😂😂 Lovely. After watching you & Ian, adding a few of “the greys” to a kit is a real plus to consider. Thanks again 👍

Another banger! Love your sketches so much. I’ve done it a couple more times, still not confident enough to start with pen or to sketch in real life (always use a photo) but I am enjoying it and I’ll get there soon enough. Thanks for the inspiration!

A great video, thank you, and a lovely loose sketch. I learned a lot here. The grey brush pens make quite a difference. I've only ever had kindness from people, including children (that was scary! I heaved a sigh of relief after they'd gone), coming up to me to look and chat. I've sketched on Bamburgh beach, in Alnwick and Berwick town centres, and an outside cafe in Morpeth. And in Italy and Portugal! And I am definitely not an artist. I'm a dabbler 😊. I do it because I like sketching buildings, and I do it for me. I must try a concertina...

Falling off the campstool, 😂 that sounds like ME!! Lol those things are just too small for me! Not even going to try. But it would be so much better to carry than a full sized camp chair. I hope youre ok? Love your work, thank you so much for sharing with us, I've learned a lot from you, and thoroughly enjoyed every video I've seen. ❤

Brilliant sketch and I love your commentary especially! I managed to get some sketching as well, I was sketching an ancient oak tree that was quite a grown tree already in 1690! One branch is all cracked and twisted and is supported by a steel beam, but it's still holding on! What I took away from my sketching trip is that old oak trees do have a LOT of leaves! I wasn't drawing each and one of them, but was a bit overwhelmed by seeing all this mass, and wondering, how on Earth would I fit it on such a small page! My weapon of choice was a pencil, supposedly it would go quicker with something water soluble, but I decided to pare down to the minimum this time. Oh, and I managed to sneak in another sketch, stifling protests of my other half +kid with an ice-cream. Felt a bit like sitting on a gunpowder barrel with fuse already lit, but I did have some time while they were eating! 😂 Following your suggestion did check urban sketchers near me and closest place is 100 km away. The other is on the other side of the country 😔. Oh, well... 😂 I'll count my blessings!

you could start an urban sketchers group! And I regularly buy time with beer and ice cream for the family
