I had the same reaction you had, I would listen to Lauren sing beautifully, then it switches to Angelina & chills/goosebumps shoots through my body. I can't explain it, it just happens. She sang this in her on-line Christmas Concert last December, but has yet to release the version on YT. I hope she does soon because it was stunningly beautiful.

Liz, every time I listen to this I feel like I'm at Cape Canaveral and I just watched a launch of a beautiful space ship and marveled at the sight of it soaring through the clouds. This mashup is beyond great. Liz, can you imagine if Angelina invited Lauren to appear with her at one of her Concerts and they sang this together! It would literally BLOW THE ROOF OFF wherever they performed it. We never, never like to compare Angelina to anyone else and I will never do that. All I would say is your reaction as soon as you heard Angelina sing for 5 seconds said it all! No one like her, past or present. She is so extraordinary because it's not only her voice which touches our hearts but it's also WHO SHE IS and we feel that at the same time.

That she and her team would ask (for whatever reason) that this one should not be so released should be honored. The selfishness and lack of integrity required to respond otherwise is staggering. A great song, two great singers, one expressive artist. I listened to Angelina singing this last December in her Christmas concert, she hasn't released it, so probably sings so many songs that most people don't get to hear. Angelina just loves to sing, trying new sounds and textures - here she make us believe.... I hope that she will give another Christmas concert this year, perhaps a hybrid, with a small/medium size audience (to keep it intimate) and live streamed for those of us overseas...

Wow!! I've always love this Lauren Daigle song - such a powerful, inspirational performance by her. This is the first time I've heard Angelina sing this - I was unable to watch her Christmas concert last year. I have to say that, once again, as good as the original artist is, Angelina's performance made the tears flow, and I feel better for having listened. Thank you Liz!

When I first heard this song I really thought it was Adele who sang it until I saw the video. Lauren and Adele sounds are alike. I see how Angelina would be perfect for this song. I guess this mashup-video will be as controversial among fans as "I'm still holding out for you" was in the first years. It was created shortly after the Christmas show, discussed controversally already back then (you can still see that in the comments there). Then apparently on request from Angelina's team (I deduced that from other comments on the channel) it was set to private, and about 6 month later it reappeared. As there was no indication that the latter was approved at that time, I refrained from linking to it.

Liz, let me take this opportunity to explain what is going on. If you've read all the comments (and, I'm sure you have) you might be confused. I will not take sides but I will directly tell you what has happened. Angelina sang this song at the end of her Christmas Special which was a pay-for-view presentation. It was so great, so thrilling, most people cried like a baby listening to it. (I'm remembering that moment and I'm tearing up already!) The video of her performance can be seen on her Patreon Channel, but, officially nowhere else. Most of us waited to see the piece show up on you tube. We had bragged to everyone we knew, "You have to watch Angelina sing 'You Say', it's unbelievable!" We waited, and waited, and waited FOR MONTHS, and it never showed up. This had never happened before. "What was going on?" Liz, as you just heard, this was a fantastic video so you can imagine the frustration it caused by not being able to hear it again. Then, the word got out that "Angelina" (?) and/or her team wanted it to be available to see only by her Patreon members. Enter Kaleidoscope RMX, a reaction team who absolutely love Angelina as much as anyone else. They respected 'the word' that Angelina and/or her team did not want her version to be produced anywhere else. PERIOD. Here comes the first mistake. All that had to be done was to tell the enormous following she has what was going on. Liz, you have to realize many, many of her 'angels' did not tune into the Christmas Special because of a variety of reasons; Too expensive for some; the procedure to pay via pay pal was a very new procedure for many and very confusing if never used before; and many people just missed it because of their schedule didn't fit; and., lastly, maybe they just didn't want to (with no disrespect intended). RMX wanted so much to bring that performance to the public. Close friends of theirs who love and appreciate all the work they do to present Angelina video's (one of them currently has well over 1M views) wondered why they did not produce a video. Then, they came up with the ingenious idea of creating a MASHUP of Lauren and Angelina singing it (with still photo's). After producing the video, they gave a lot of serious thought to what they had done. Perhaps it would be a mistake for them put the video out for the public on you tube. They decided to do it. They felt they were not violating the desire of Angelina's team to not publish a video of her performance from the Christmas Show. But, because of their deep concern of the way the video might be accepted (or, not) they included a message to everyone who would look at their video with an explanation of what they did and they hoped people would understand. The Patreon members were outraged and felt even though it wasn't the original video from the Christmas Show it shouldn't have been seen by the public at large! When I saw it I was thrilled! When I viewed the Christmas Show would you believe my 'connection' kept going in and out and it spoiled that particular segment. I very seldom share video's with other people. I usually call them to tell them directly what to listen to. In this case I started to 'share' the video with about a dozen people. Surprisingly, I never got any feedback and later on I found out the video was taken down! Oh, oh! My first thought was how bad I felt for RMX. My second oh, oh, was Angelina and her team must be furious that RMX produced their video and it got out to the public. Liz, RMX would never have put out the video if they knew, like all of us, what was the plan? Was it important for us to have an idea of why we were being denied the privilege to see the spectacular video? Months went by and all of a sudden I spotted the video on you tube. I thought it was a mistake but it didn't go away. And now, Liz, I believe you're the first reactor who has played the video. Let your conscience be your guide. My feelings? Liz, if this has anything to do with money, OMG, when she bursts out of the stall on her great White Horse she will be doing quite well. Angelina will always remain the wonderful, precious human being she is and we will love her forever. But, her team (which includes Republic) will be counting up the numbers if you know what I mean. After all, it is a business. I want to regard this whole thing as a family dispute of sorts. We all love Angelina. The whole 'You Say' predicament could have been avoided but, it happened and when we watch the MASHUP video are we supposed to feel guilty? That is insane. We understand why Angelina has been being held back and we support those reasons. But, when she devotes herself full time to her career, my goodness, is Angelina Jordan, Inc., on the open market? I want at least a 1000 shares!

The tone of these singers is almost identical. If it was for the added jazzy texture that Angelina adds you could get them confused. I don't really like these mashups because it causes comparisons that are often heated. I imagine there are people who would prefer Lauren as she has a beautiful voice with a simpler sound. Not me though, I like the extra spice that Angelina brings.
