The point of killing the cows in white orchard is to acquire their cow hide, that sells for a high price. People used to grind the cow hides for money this early in game, and that's why the developers added that Chort attack to stop users from abusing the loophole.

ohhh ok. I never struggled with money, but then again, I never buy anything other than repairs, crafting of Witcher gear and such.. and the DLC contents :D
