This video script is actually from 2021 (I filmed and edited but then my computer broke and I lost it) so the video script was already written and there will be more casual videos still. Tomorrow's is a marriage expectations vs reality and the next week is life wisdom I've gained. The week after that will be on Joseph Smith having bipolar disorder!

I think I have an issue with drinking. Not to the point of getting drunk, but in terms of excess. I’m unable to get sick or drunk with alcohol thanks to my Slavic genes, but I do feel like it’s easy for me to drink a lot or influence others to drink more than they should. I’ve heard someone compare it to gluttony more so than drunkenness, so I am working on this. I can go without it, but the habit feels like the same thing as someone who just casually drinks a lot of soda.

I get what your saying about excess drinking. But someone like me who drinks a few beers in the evening after being on my feet all day is stressful as it is and alcohol helps people to unwind and relax in the evening to enjoy themselves .

Kudzu root has shown to help reduce alcohol cravings for anyone wrestling with drinking. If it's a drinking issue. Some self medicate with alcohol which is a different issue or more complex issue.

What are your thoughts on underage drinking from both a personal standpoint as well as in light of Catholic moral theology? I feel like a lot of underage catholics are looking for an answer to this question but there isn’t anything really said about it from the church. Thanks and great video!!

It depends on the situation . For instance I've read stories about people letting their teenagers drink some beer or wine on a weekly basis to help their anxiety or ADHD etc problems which actually helped them out . I'm 31 yrs old and using a little alcohol to help my ADHD to focus on my work and things I need to do in life actually helps . So in the end it depends on the situation.

I converted over 30 years ago and I grew up a teetotaler. We had a lot of alcoholism in my family and I did not give that Viewpoint up. And that's okay. The first picnic I went to as a Catholic they had an open bar and I was lecturing my Irish priest about the sins of the drink and he said get over it and I said no I'm not and we had a good laugh because I was frowning that alcohol was being consumed in front of children. I was brought up the day that Southern Baptist went out of town to have a beer. Lol. I was United Methodist but I was brought up by a teetotaler Southern Methodist and yeah, it was a no-go and it's still a no-go and I actually found a wonderful husband who is also teetotaler. I guess if you're from Dixie and have that type of raising, it's okay to stick to the belief because I haven't made any stupid decisions when it comes to booze. I just wish my cradle Catholic would not drink socially, but I lecture him. He just rolls his eyes. LOL.

11:58 What of friends who pressure you to eat more and more? Like, I am homeless, and some Muslims who know a real solid meal will not allow a small amount of alcohol to make you even tipsy, when they see me take a small amount of alcohol, they get eager to provide a big amount of food. What if a light meal and alcohol (2 - 4 cl pure = c. 25 cl wine or a pint of beer) will make one pee well and then sleep well, while a big meal will make one wake up too early next morning (even 1 am) and not be able to get back to sleep?

That's the trouble with Protestants, they cannot separate prayer from worship. And this misconception is only backed up by the fact that we kneel down before statues so it looks to them like we're worshipping them but we're not, neither the statues nor the saints they represent. JMJ✝️

I usually DO say "ask them to pray for us" so was speaking more short hand and I want to avoid that. The old English word for pray means to ask, so technically it is theologically accurate to say that. However, since many non Catholics watch my videos I Iike to say "ask them to pray" thank you for the reminder and keeping me accountable!!

12:34 Let's take the kind of friends (not only Muslims) who would like me to drink no alcohol at all, or if I do, have no benefit of it. Do they give me the peace needed to pray a rosary? No. Read a book ... nice the day hours are long now. I did manage to finish "Fantômette contre Fantômette" day before yesterday - before the eyes of some who were worried to see me lying down. It's about as long as a Famous Five. I have not been able to finish a Lord of the Rings since I became homeless, while, before that, I used to do yearly complete rereads. A walk? Public transports in Paris leave me lots of stretches to actually walk on foot, even if I take a transport.

6:22 On a country road in certain parts of Ireland, where cars drive slow and not meet very often, I don't think taking a beer before the last part of the ride is endangering anyone's life. In defense of a man I hitchhiked with in 1986 - the same trip to Ireland where I also bought a folder on the Rosary for my upcoming conversion (received in 1988, _before_ Monsignor Lefebvre was declared automatically excommunicated, and by a priest who approved of him "except for the lack of obedience" - he used the Novus Ordo).
