Lizzy, I had the great pleasure of seeing your father play when he was in Rhode Island with Fourplay. I've been to many, many concerts over the years, but this was a real treat. I was deeply saddened to hear of your father's passing. He was an extraordinary musician, and as a father myself, I will tell you he would be immensely proud of you.

The day will come when you will smile and laugh again at the thought of your wonderful dad. The tears will eventually subside. If it helps, I had my dad for many yrs. He lived long enough to see grandkids, and greatgrandkids. No matter how young or old you may be, the passing of a parent is heart wrenching. I cried for three years. Now I can look at my dads picture, or recall the special things about him, and I'm at peace. I wish peace and joy for you and your family. God bless you.

An amazing musician, but brilliant composer in his own right, I first heard your father's playing through listening to his collaborative work with Mitchel Forman, Steps Ahead, and the late Stan Getz's Billy Highstreet Samba album It is simply a fact that there are not many artists that can really capture the moment and heartfelt intent of everything they play. But I find in Chuck Loeb's interpretation of anything written, he truly makes it his own, to the point to where you are hoping you will hear something solely written by him on any album he's contrIbuted to. More importantly, it is wonderful to be able to discern how beautiful a person is simply by hearing them sing through their musical instrument. Lizzy, I pray God will bring to you and your family His love, His peace, His comfort, His strength, His Truth and every precious moment with your dad to remembrance, especially during those times when it hurts the most(Revelation 21:4). I will always be thinking of His goodness and how He used your dad's tremendous gift to bring encouragement and inspiration to a wealth of musicians and listeners alike. With much love, honor and respect, Dean Strong

Lizzy, your dad had a big fan even as far away as here in Australia. I was devastated to hear of his death, in shock. He was one of my fave jazz guitarists, a big influence. Beautiful song, well done. the whole world will miss him.

I was devastated to learn about you father's passing Lizzy. But what a brilliant life well lived. His spirit must live on and thrive in worlds of light, worlds he has already brought to us here. You have so much of his unassuming brilliance that I saw in your solo show in Chexbres Switz. He must be so proud. Condolences to you and family.

I'm so sorry, Lizzy. My condolences go to you and your family. I just heard Chick Corea's Elektric Band play last night at Wolf Trap and was looking around for reviews. Herbie Hancock's upcoming appearance at the Kennedy Center was headlined some place and below that was the news of your dad's passing. Saw his kids listed and just looked you up on a whim. I see you singing with Eric and your dad now in the side bar. Small world. About that pain: What you've got to deal with now is a cruel amputation and the phantom pains that come with it. That's what the pains are. It's just like your leg is gone but the nerve endings are still there. I'm just laying it out plainly like that to make sure you know it. Maybe the recognition of what the pain is can make it somehow more bearable. My own dad was about the same age when I lost him to cancer too. Also: Look for signs. Odd coincidences. Mysterious relationships. For example: It's so weird to be writing this after seeing my musical "daddy" exit the stage with a bounce in his step playing a happy little tune on his keytar after I finally got to hear his Elektric Band live for the first and maybe only time. 3:48 Wow! Your dad's voice was similar to Chick's too. (both were tenors) That's atonal music to your ears, isn't it? On his Solo Piano Portraits cd, Chick left his voice in the portrait he made of me because he knew that would be atonal birthday music to my ears as well. Amazing! CIRCLE of life. see video :CIRCLE Live 1971 (Anthony Braxton, Chick Corea, Dave Holland, Barry Altschul)
