Thank you so much for this video, Sally! I recently bought a Silver Reed LK 150 and this video is much clearer than the instructions in the booklet!

Sally, you are a godsend! Thank you so much for that tutorial. I shall watch it and watch it, write down your instructions point by point because there are loads of clear relevant steps which are either not distinct in the instruction booklet or not covered at all.. Huge Bouquets to you.

Yes, there is a lot omitted from the book. Very unusual for Silver Reed, their books are normally pretty comprehensive. It was this lack that prodded me into making these videos.

So you only leave the Russel levers and back levers on 2 for cast on, then you put them back and leave them there ?
@sallybutcherskalamundakrafts3 жыл бұрын
It depends on the method! The Russell levers control the needles in hold. If they are at I then any needle at D position will not knit. The side levers control whether needles will knit or slip.

I’ve just bought a LK150 but the carriage keeps jamming and the tension is far too tight. Any ideas please.
@sallybutcherskalamundakrafts Жыл бұрын
It sounds most likely that you are using yarn that is too thick, or the stitch dial setting is too low. Or, maybe you’re trying with something like cotton which has no stretch. I recommend starting with a DK weight of yarn, dial set to 4. Or worsted weight, dial set to 7. If it’s in balls or skeins then you need to wind into cakes

What's the point of the ravel cord at 12:35?
@sallybutcherskalamundakrafts2 жыл бұрын
The point of the ravel cord here is to hold the open loops of yarn in place on the needles, allowing the needles to move forward, and the next stitch to knit through, without the initial row becoming unravelled.
