The Wilton Recycling Donegal International Rally 2023.
What a weekend of fun and enjoyment.
Baby Blue was back to her glorious best taking everything we could throw at her and filling the road every chance she got.
Lauren was in her element and getting her through Fanad in the dry with wet tyres on was another one off the bucket list.
What a stage!
We had a plan on Friday and it was working well until we clipped a rock on ss5 and had to stop to change the wheel so a good result was gone.
I’m not good at much but thankfully I’ve a short memory span so we just carried on with the plan to go flat out for every corner as long as we could.
The fact that we made the finish ramp intact is thanks to BB, Lauren and a lot of luck. It’s been a while since we’ve had so much “care free fun”.
We eventually fought back up to 8th national and 27th overall and to top it all Lauren won top female for the second year in a row.

Oh boy, this is so cool and heartwarming. There's a part of my life growing where rallying seemed just so unobtainable, like an alien lifestyle only accessible to the unfathomably rich elite teams backed up by huge corporations. Some 20/30y later you find this channel and the likes of this VLOG and you somehow feel all your passion reflected back but actually these people REALLY KNOW what they are doing. Irish charm is completely winning for me, btw :) PS: it's so cool to see the inserts of clips from other channels. The community around rallying is truly awesome. Here I am just being able to pick up a PS4 controller and experience WRC videogames but I'm here living vicariously through all of you :) Is it me or the co-driver sometimes has a few little laughs whilst still calling out the notes? is it even possible to have so much fun AND be professional at the same time? :) Not on my job, unfortunately... ahah

That’s the onboard tracker we use here in Ireland. When we stop on the stage we press ok to let them know back at base it’s not a bad accident and we are ok and the stage is clear.
