Funfact Go was part of the NCT 2018 empathy era, in this era Boss by NCT U was released and Touch by NCT 127, which was a surprise because NCT 127 did a cute concept and NCT Dream a rebellious concept like a little switch up

Also, about Dream solely being cute and having a bright concept is a bit of a misconception (although I’m glad that you seem to understand that). At the beginning, they were very young so it very much fit with their age and being the youngest unit, but as they are growing up, their concept and vibe has grown with them and it shows throughout their journey! They’re obviously still the youngest unit (at the moment), but they’re all adults now.

I totally agree that its awesome to see them grow up and I can't wait to listen to their whole discography to see that on an even deeper level 👀 It makes perfect sense why they started off with the brighter and sweeter concept for sure - and in fact I actually really love it! At this stage its awesome though because they seem to have so much experience trying different things that they can do whatever and nail it.

You maybe wouldn’t necessarily expect it when watching some of these mv’s, but the choreographies are often super intense and insane for Dream’s songs and they’re incredibly clean with it. We Young especially is one of the hardest choreographies out of any NCT song and then for Chewing Gum they perform half of the song on hoverboards (there’s a hoverboard performance video). It would be great if you could eventually check out some more performance videos and perhaps some b-sides too, cause those tend to be really, really good. Like you mentioned, it’s so special to have watched them grow up right in front of our eyes and as a fan, it’s always fun to see what they come up with next, knowing they’ll kill it either way. Their vocals are incredible indeed, having 3 main vocalists in one group it is to be expected!

What I love about Dream is that even if their music matured in Go, Boom, etc., they still kept it youthful. More teenage angst than adult mature, if that makes any sense. It's what sets them apart from the other units. My top 3 are My First and Last, Go and Boom.

Ah the Dreamies!!! If you get a chance to watch live stages or the dance practices, I HIGHLY recommend them. “Go” gives me rebellious teenager vibes, and it’s such a contrast to their previous title tracks. It just goes to show how incredibly talented and versatile they are!

I have some respect for SM for giving them songs that kinda match their age, like chewing gum was a cute concept because they were extremely young (14-17), my first and last and we young as well. In go they were a bit older (16-19), it makes sense for them to have a more mature comeback. We go up is like a good mix between cute and mature in my opinion, boom was really cool as well. Ridin’ in 2020 was also a darker concept and now i’m exited for 7dream comeback!!

"Go" was off the NCT 2018 Empathy album, in which 127 did "Touch", so yeah there was a bit of a concept switcheroo but then people were *shook* and their concept has definitely continued to evolve to something more mature and i love it. Fun fact: during the promotions of "We Young" Mark and Haechan were in the midst of their infamous and mysterious "summer fight" where there are some pretty hilarious pictures and videos of them very blatantly arguing and ignoring each other and pouting over the other ignoring them and the other dreamies being done with them. We still don't know wtf happened, but they obviously got over it xD "We Young" always reminded me of Red Velvet's "Red Flavor". The mv's are very similar and idk if it was intentional but i love it (another fun fact to go with that: Red Velvet used to be Dream's #1 fans and were constantly cooing over them and hyping them and it was the best thing ever. i miss those interactions rip) someone else already mentioned how hard nct dream's choreos go, and i'll definitely be giving you some of those in the future. many dancers that react to nct have said that dream is their favorite unit in terms of dance, their energy and synchronicity is outstanding. i have some fun content of theirs lined up that will help you learn them more, don't worry :P

SM definitely used their nct2018 empathy album as a way to transition dream in a shocking, but interesting way. The fans had always joked about having dream and 127 switch concepts for a comeback, and SM took it seriously. It was a good way to deliver what fans wanted while also allowing for this 'concept switch' to pave the way for dream to have a more mature aura with the songs after that. Honestly, it was really cool to see because you'd think that SM would slowly transition their concept from cute to mature over time, which in a way it did, but by releasing Go after the still bubbly and fun We Young, it added more shock factor and enforced the idea of them being teens and of the age for teenage rebellion! Honestly, all of NCT Dream's discography since debut are absolute BOPS. They have so much range, and with the change of concept, have even more variety to their music! People need to stop sleeping on these boys! Thank you for the reaction!! Glad that you enjoyed them!

Out of all the NCT units, Dream has the most title tracks that I've liked. We Go Up, Boom, My First and Last, Candlelight, Ridin...etc. Don't Need Your Love is my favorite though. Go is my least favorite.
