You know why. When these brothers + sisters were rappin back in hip hops infancy you had people that thought this was the worst thing that ever happened to music. I remember 1 lady was trying to get congress to ban rap. But what happened was it took hold + became the biggest genre in music + as bad as some people tried to make rap seem there was many socially aware rappers (PE, BDP,etc even funny rappers with a story that old white people were scared of (Black Sheep, Ice Cube, De La Soul, A Tribe Called Qwest etc) + now you got the trash rap puts out now + it makes everyone longs for the the rap of yesteryear. So LL will get in because people are starting to appreciate the quality + depth of rap from not to long ago. After the early to mid 2000s you had a dumbing down of recent rap, the quality, the b/s they rap about + you start to see how great LL + the cats from early rap really were + you realize man i miss those days. There's quite a few rappers that will eventually get in. Plus last thing white kids are a large consumer of rap even from way back. Chuck D once said that at their shows were predominantly white kids + they're the 1s who are now becoming the ones who will control or voting on who gets into the Rock +Roll hall of fame. LL will get in with hopefully some other truly groundbreaking rap acts.
