This is such an amazing job porcelain restoration and repair that fewer people appreciate. My mother has a collection of Lladro and that is why I ended up watching this video

I am proud to see that in this world of disposability, immediate gratification, and no appreciation for things hand-crafted that you are bringing back an old philosophy and tradition that it is still important to do things with one’s hands, exercising great patience, and taking the time and attention to the details needed to do them well! Bravo!

It depends on where you live. The product is called "cold glaze pro 2". You can start at Sylmasta.com. Ask them if the have a distributor in your country.

I was wondering could you make the scabbard and then attach it to the figurine?

Yes, you could. But I would only do it if the scabbard was beyond repairing.

Amazing work! I was looking for a rock hard glaze and this may be the answer. I have 2 questions. 1. Do you use the thinner and or retarder along with the glaze for airbrushing? 2. What matte glaze do you use for example on matte finish lladro? Thank you for these videos!
@marsgitar Жыл бұрын
Yes, Cold Glaze needs to be thinned to spray it on. Once I've mixed the resin and hardener, I'll add an equal amount of thinner (resin/hardener=2 grams, add 2 grams thinner. Use the thinner to clean tools/airbrush/beakers. For matte finishes in Lladro: I use Golden's Restoration Glaze, matte version. It's an acrylic glaze. There is a matting agent you can get to add to the Sylmasta Cold Glaze, but it was difficult for me to get the proper ratio of matte agent in the glaze so I don't use it any more. I forget where I got the matting agent (a dry powder). Good luck to you.

Hi Martin, I went to Micro-Mark to check out the hand tools that they have. They have a very nice selection, I saw the one you use for this project was the size of a writing pen. I own a Craftsman drindle that's large and bulky for fine work. What tool do you recommend from Micro-Mark to do what you did in this project.

Hi, I currently live in Suwanee Ga. Do you happen to know someone that can restore lladro figures?
@marsgitar2 жыл бұрын
The closest restorer to you, that I could recommend, would be "Lakeside Pottery". They're in Delaware. I'm in California. Few Lladros could make that round trip unscathed. Good luck in your search.

Where can I purchase a Lladro Romeo and Juliet Missing Rose
@marsgitar2 жыл бұрын
You can try contacting Lladro directly for replacement parts. They still make/sell some of them. Otherwise do a search online for "Lladro replacement flowers" or "Replacement flower for Lladro Romeo and Juliet". If those fail . . . then you'd have to make one. Good luck.
